      Hello all,

There have been a few questions in the past few months, so I just wanted to give a *very* quick and dirty explanation of how to connect Isadora to Rokoko Studio in order to get tracking data from the Rokoko Smartsuit Pro/Pro II and Smart Gloves.

      Setup Steps:

Download and install IsadoraIf you don't have an Isadora license and want to be able to save your work, purchase an Isadora LicenseNote: There are short-term and long-term options for licenses. Check the store for more details.Download and install Rokoko Studio from Rokoko's website.Note: This software is what collects the live data from the suit/glovesGet a Rokoko Plus subscription so that you can stream the data to Isadora from the Rokoko Studio Software.Get your suit/gloves connected to your WiFi and ensure they show up in Rokoko StudioNote: If you are having trouble, feel free to consult:Rokoko's Onboarding Essentials YouTube playlistRokoko's help articlesDownload the Rokoko Studio Live Watcher Add-On, unzip it, and follow the setup steps inside to connect Rokoko Studio to IsadoraNote: If you are having trouble, feel free to consult Rokoko's article on connecting Rokoko Studio to Isadora.

I'll see if I can update them, asap.

In the meantime I found this post from Woland.

      """

The newest version of the Rokoko Studio Live Watcher (which comes in the download for Isadora 4.0.7) and the newest version of the Rokoko Studio software should work with the v1 suit.

The tutorial and actor that come in Add-Ons Page download for the Rokoko Studio Live Watcher should work if you need to use the legacy version of the Rokoko Studio Software for the v1 suit.

Either way, you will also need to get the first paid tier of subscription for the Rokoko Software in order to stream the data from their software to any other software. The "Plus" tier costs $20USD/month.

If you run into any trouble just send in a ticket (link in my signature) and I can personally walk you through it since I have my own v1 suit.

This seemed like useful information to share if you hadn't found this yet.

I'm currently working on a project using Rokoko and Isadora, and I wanted to try the tutorials from Guru Session #19. However, every time I try to open the tutorial file provided Isadora crashes. I don't know if this is because the files aren't compatible with my version of Isadora, or if it's because I don't currently have an Isadora license. I'm really hoping to work with a 3D puppet. Does anyone have any idea as to why this might be happening? Or any other way I could achieve the same results?  Any help is appreciated.

(Again, just posting this for the benefit of others who may run across this thread in the future)

I got in touch with the lovely folks at Rokoko, and they've now added a tutorial to their website on how to connect Rokoko Studio Live with Isadora: https://support.rokoko.com/hc/en-us/articles/42904491647889-Livestream-to-Isadora

Yes.  I have however invested a great deal of time learning UE4 to this point (not to mention sizable investment in 3D model assets).  Although a good deal of basic concepts will transfer to Unity, having to relearn 3-years of investigation makes me pause.

I am also waiting to see what happens with the Epic-Apple issue.  If support continues to fall away for Apple from Epic... I will switch to Unity.
