Awesome, thanks! I just wanted to make sure it was compatible with Isadora before purchasing.

Hello from Alaska! I am a PC user sitting down this fine Saturday morning to spend some time trying to figure out how to control DMX lighting on the second (2nd) universe of the Enttec DMX USB Pro Mk2. I have had some great fun using the Enttec Lanbox MATRIX v1.3 actor, which I believe was authored or at least posted by CraigAlfredson, to control lighting in Universe 1. Eamonn, I really like the compact size and quality build of the device. Even I, a fairly elementary user, have been able to figure out how to do some fun things like having the lights respond to the output of a web camera and such.
If anybody reading this post has any input regarding getting this actor (or any actor) to control both universes 1 and 2 at the same time I'd greatly appreciate any direction! -
hallo everybody. me too.
i have to decide which dmx device we are buying for the next show.
so is there anybody out there who had an idea how we can use the second universe of enttec mk2 pro.
and how we can use the input from the mk2 to control things in isadora?greetings to all

Hi Folks
I am helping someone on Isadora 2.0.5 that is having trouble with an Enntec MkII Drivers on Mavericks.
Any of you using the MKII successfully with this configuration? -
There was some issue with Enttec and FTDI Drivers. I´m not on Mavericks but i read about it in some light forum. i attached a small tool (Driver control) to give it
a try at least.maybe this helps. -
I have been using the Enttec Pro Mk2 for about a year with the latest Mac OS (now Yosemite). It was a bit counter-intuitive to set up at first, but it has been rock-solid. I love having two universes in one interface.

Just a quick update. We have been tracking the MK 2 Enttec driver issue through a user that has been in close contact with Enntec for direct support, and so I will be updating this forum post as soon as the latest info has been clarified. It seems that the best solution for Enttec Mk 2 users is to install a different Enntec driver than the standard one that is normally recommended. Otherwise the device may not be seen in Isadora 2.0. This is an Enttec driver issue, but it will be great to have a solution for all our users.
More info coming soon but PM me if you need info urgently.

Thanks @primaldivine for this update. We should probably create a short Knowledge Base article on this once it's all sorted.
Best Wishes,Mark -
the issue that you are speaking about is just in OSX, is it right?
-
Yes, as far as I know. (We've had no reports from PC users about this.)Best Wishes,Mark -
Perfect results so far with the Enttec DMX USB PRo in Isadora v2.0 without needing to modify my Isadora files.
I am testing the Lanbox LCX also, later this week.
Enttec Mk2 results will follow soon but not for a few more days.

hallo again. my question is still if anybody gets success full with two universes or the input of the divice?

Hi all,
having the following experience with Enttec Mk2 Pro into Isadora on Yosemite. The Mk2 works in Isadora only with FTDI drivers 2.3\. (Download at: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm. )But then once you install FTDI drivers the Mk2 doesn't work anymore within QLC+ and the Enttec Pro-Manager, which require D2XX drivers.Any idea about how to fix this ?Should I install and re-install these different drivers every time?Best -

thanks for your feedback. When I run The Mavericks utility to disable the FTDI drivers and fix the D2XX driver, Isadora doesn't see the Mk2 anymore. As I was saying, in my case I see the Mk2 in Isadora only with the FTDI drivers... but then I loose it in QLC+ -
i have the same issue with chamsys and isadora. it is one or the other :( thats why i bought a chamsys dongle. i found no workaround.

@[lucslike](/troikatronixforum/profile/lucslike) , @gapworksall right i got the point,
the way the enttec box works, i don't think you could have two processes feeding it at the same timeand it doesn't matter if you use the ftdi or d2xx drivers it wouldn't accept 2 apps( in the end it is just a serial device like an arduino and the micro controller needs to communicate with the host app that he is ready to accept new data …)in a conventional dmx cabling (two lighting desks -> 1 dimmer) you would need a dmx mergerso an option is to configure your lighting software that it accepts an input stream from isadorawith qlc+ you could try out the osc / midi inputchamsys is another beast and depending on your license (if you have a console connected )you could do a remote control of your desk, we did some research on this last yearhttp://avk4.net/isadora-chamsys-magicq/last but not least if somebody is brave enough to build an actor (ola bridge) with full artnet / sacn capabilitiespossibilities are expanding …bestm_theater -
Thanks a lot !
I will try to connect Isadora and Qlc in these days and let you know what comes out...Best -
Hi lucslike,
Just following up on this thread: did you ever manage to connect Isadora and QLC (or QLC+)?
If so, any tips?Thanks
Mark

QLC+ is the now the active development branch and OSC is super easy, it even has OSC learn (and midi learn for that matter). Just go to the input and output section and configure your OSc and or midi then you can attach a remote command to any function, scene, fader, UI object or cue advance etc.
