In ear monitors

hello folks - i'm working on an idea for dancers to be manipulated in realtime, and my first thought was to use some kind of in-ear-monitor so i can speak to dancers individually as they are on stage. radio transmitter IEMs as used by musicians and TV people are pretty damn expensive, especially if i'm going to need 6 channels.
does anybody have any other ideas for something cheap but reliable that only needs to transmit a few metres? bluetooth? wi-fi?(sorry its not fully Isadora-related)cheers,john -

Haven't tried these yet but was curious about them myself.

thanks Jamie - that looks like a possibility. I wonder if its possible to use 6 in the same space as different devices....
