[ANSWERED] How to get solid black [on a projector]

Hi all ! Is there a workaround when your fisical projector cant give you a solid black color on the background?

The only workaround I know (outside of your projector having a real shutter built in) is to build a dowser/shutter yourself.

hardware shutter is indeed the best, Keep in mind that projectors itself can emmiting grey instead of black. In cheap projectors DLP is the most black one.

Check also the new PJ link plugin out, that can control shutters in projectors when available!

Second the PJLink method, if you want a quicker option you can also rent shutters for projectors that work on DMX signal most of the time, they are quite good and I used them plenty on location.
