This does the same things as the setting in the nVidia control panel.
I haven't found there to be any functional difference, but I can imagine them conflicting.
Personally, I like the setting being inside the nVidia control panel since this is where I make other power settings/configurations.
It's still unclear to me if one has priority over the other, so I stick to using just one.

The Adafruit Huzzah is also fine, it can send OSC over the Network to your Show PC. Much easier to setup then Serial communication. Please be aware that you should have a solid isolated network for this types of things. (That can do both 2.4 Ghz as 5Ghz, since micro controllers most speakly on 2.4Ghz)

I got an M1 Mac mini and tried isadora on it with Rosetta 2. Izzy opened right up and snappily even. But so far the movie players only play audio. I am sure you are well aware of this but I just wanted you to have the Info.

Isadora 3 is not yet compatible with Big Sur because Apple just loves making life difficult for us developers. :-(

However, we have a beta that _is_ compatible and working well with Big Sur, and that will likely solve the problem.

If you want to sign up for the beta test program you we can let you try it.

Regardless, you can expect a the Big Sur compatible version to arrive soon into the new year.

@emtv I don't know your set, but often lighting the thing that does not move is easier than lighting the thing that does, so carefully lighting the set with IR and not lighting the stage could be an easier solution. As long as you have good contrast between the set and the actors you can always adjust the image and invert it. I could imagine trying to always light the actors everywhere on stage and not spilling on the set could be more difficult.

      @bonemap
Thanks a lot Russell for your detailed answer.

The CalDigit TB3 Mini Dock might introduced a glitch in the GPU management, so an OS clean install would tell if the official USB-C > HDMI apple adapter finally works (solo).
Otherwise the issue seems to come from the GPU or the motherboard...

@DillTheKraut, Russell succeeded to send video through OWC Dock and passive adapter, so an active mini-DP adapter is not always necessary.
Other video technicians told me that the official USB-C TB3 > mini-DP TB2 apple adapter works fine with all their TB2 video adapters.

      Best wishes.
      Clement

@bonemap bit off topic from GoPro but I have been using the newish pihq camera with c/cs lens mount https://www.raspberrypi.org/pr... with a raspberry pi to make hdmi cameras - very few lines of python code to get full screen hdmi out. There are pros and cons of course - lots of lens options, but fixed focus. Lots of camera options can be fiddled with in code. Not many more lines of code to make a time lapse camera, and very customisable.

Great that you got this working. I've never even heard of that camera. Cool!

I had difficulty getting any of the tracking features such as body & skeleton.

What is the resolution of the sensor? It has to be 320x240 or 640x480 for the body tracking to work.

Does this mixer allow you to get video into the Live Capture Settings using the Blackmagic driver? Or????

And in Windows it's the same: the ATEM input is seen as a Webcam in Isadora, and you just set the driver to Windows NOT Blackmagic.

For running Isadora on computers in an installation-type setting:

Isadora > Isadora Preferences > Warnings > Warnings > Disable all warnings

Isadora > Isadora Preferences > Warnings > Automatic Updates > Automatically Check for New Versions > Never

Isadora > Isadora Preferences > Auto Save > Autosave > Disable auto save

Isadora > View > Tip of the Day > uncheck “Show Tips”

System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Screen Saver > Start After: > Never

System Preferences > Mission Control > uncheck “Displays have separate Spaces” (then log out and back in)

System Preferences > Notifications > Do Not Disturb > Turn on Do Not Disturb > enable “From: [TIME] to: [TIME]” > set it to “From: 1:01 am to: 1:00 am” (to always keep it in do not disturb)

System Preferences > Notifications > Do Not Disturb > Turn on Do Not Disturb > enable “When display is sleeping” + Enable “When mirroring to TVs and projectors”

System Preferences > Notifications > Do Not Disturb > When Do Not Disturb is turned on: > uncheck “Allow calls from everyone” + uncheck “Allow repeated calls”

System Preferences > Energy Saver > set “Computer sleep:” + “Display sleep:” to “Never”

System Preferences > Energy Saver > uncheck “Put hard disks to sleep when possible”

System Preferences > Energy Saver > enable “Start up automatically after a power failure”

System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Turn Wi-Fi Off (if you don't need it)

System Preferences > Network > Bluetooth > Turn Bluetooth Off (if you don't need it)

If you're running the computers without any keyboard or mouse attached (and want to prevent system dialogs looking for a keyboard and mouse via Bluetooth), go to System Preferences > Bluetooth > Advanced button > Uncheck "Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant if no keyboard is detected" + Uncheck "Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant if no mouse or trackpad is detected" > select OK.

The Taskbar being visible can be solved by going to System Preferences > General > enable “Automatically hide and show menu bar”

The Dock being visible can be solved by going to System Preferences > Dock > enable “Automatically hide and show Dock”

If you're controlling the computers by networking them together, it's much better to use Cat5/5e/6 (ethernet cable) to wire them all to an ethernet switch rather than relying on Wi-Fi.

If you don't want any other windows to open when you restart the computer, go: Apple > Log Out [USERNAME] > uncheck “Reopen windows when logging back in” > Log Out

If you want Isadora to launch a particular file when you turn on the computer:

System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items > “+” Button > in the dialog, go to Applications > Isadora 3 > and select Isadora to add Isadora (or the specific Isadora file you want to launch on login) as a login item.If you want to launch Isadora and have it launch the specific file itself, goIsadora Preferences > General > Startup Action > Open Most Recent File
Isadora Preferences > General > After Loading File > Activate First Scene + Show Stages after 10 Sec. This has the advantage that if you save a newer version of the file, Isadora will open the newer version automatically, instead of you needing to remove the old file as a Login Item and insert the new file as a new Login Item.System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items > Remove any other login items not necessary for the installationSystem Preferences > Users & Groups > Click the lock (bottom left) > enter password > Login Options (lower-left) > Choose an account from the “Automatic login” menu > enter password. Computer now automatically logs in to that account on restart. If you have multiple partitions or are launching from an external drive, make sure you restart from the correct partition by going to System Preferences > Startup Disk > Click the lock (bottom left) > enter password > Select the correct partition from which to boot.

      @jfg @Fred

I'm certain I've got an installer for the older X4 windows version saved on my PC, runs happily on Windows 10. Not got access to it today sorry, but I can check tomorrow.

I think this is the link to the relevant bits, it's got the command line interface for mac there as well (Helpfully in 'Archive' rather than 'Legacy').

      https://www.datapath.co.uk/datapath-archive-downloads/datapath-x4-archive

I thought that Wall Designer was supposed to support X4 if the firmware was up to date but I may be wrong. I actually preferred the old interface to the new Wall Designer.

[edit: sorry, I've read your post properly now and see you had this link already.]

Not at this moment. Isadora doesn't support Dual GPU or using an External GPU. Most of the time I use my PC tower with the latest graphic card to make sure that the project runs great (For example 16 HD video playback to name a thing)
