      Hi,

There has been a bit of discussion about HID devices, but I have only investigated a XBox wireless controller, Nintendo Wiimote and Wacom Tablet. From what I understand, the wireless XBox controller can be connected to Mac OS Big Sur, but does not get recognised by HID device input in Isadora 3.8. I have invested in OSCulator to get some HID devices up in Isadora, but OSCulator does not recognise the XBox wireless controller. So at the present time I don't know of a direct or indirect connection for XBox wired or wireless controller in Isadora.

      Best Wishes

      Russell

        @bonemap ah that's annoying!

Is it looking like this might not actually be fixable in a future release?

Hi Tim, Mark Coniglio creator of Isadora here. I am surprised that this is not working for you. We tested with our HID devices and it worked for us. To be sure, I just went and tested again using the only controller I have on hand at the moment, a Gamepad Wireless for PS3/PC by CSL Computer (see https://www.universal.at/p/csl...) and everything works as expected. (To be clear, this wireless device has a USB dongle -- so it appears as "wired" in the sense that the data appears via the USB dongle plugged in to the computer, not via bluetooth.)

Can you provide a links to the specific Xbox controller and the "dance mat" you are talking about? I don't know about the dance may, but I'm sure I can order the Xbox controller and try it.

          Best Wishes,
          Mark

I am very sorry to say you are right. HID Input is not working properly in the 3.0.8f12 release. We will have to prepare a hot fix for this. I am sorry that we missed this and for any inconvenience it has caused.

No worries at all @mark - it's only the dance mat I need for this current show, and I have a workaround for that at the moment.

Hopefully it's a relatively easy fix for you!

Thanks for everything you do :)

                Best,

                Tim

If it's still useful to you:

I *think* this is the Xbox controller I have (I didn't purchase it, so cannot be sure but it looks the same). https://www.onbuy.com/gb/black...

It shows up in Gamepad Tester as "Xbox 360 Controller (STANDARD GAMEPAD Vendor: 045e Product: 028e"

The dance mat is this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB...

It shows up in gamepad tester as "USB Gamepad (Vendor: 0079 Product: 0011)"

(I only just came into possession of the xbox controller, so never tested it on a previous release, but the dance mat was definitely working under 3.0.7 / Catalina)

@mark Hi Mark! Do you know when we might possibly get a fix for this? I stumbled across an installer for 3.0.8f09 and can confirm HID is working properly in that (although the Xbox controller still isn't happy - but I imagine that's its own issue), so it is just 3.0.8f12 that's affected.

Open a ticket and ask to get access to the current beta. Let's see if that solves the problem.
