[LOGGED] global 'jump' pause/suspension?
-
I'm editing multiple scenes with 'jump' actors active within them. It's obviously very easy to manually disconnect triggers in order to tinker about within the scene without getting interrupted by a scene change, but it's also very easy to forget to reconnect and discover by finding a scene outstaying its welcome.
Is it already possible to pause all jump functions while keeping Isadora live and un-paused? If so - sorry for wasting your time. Please tell me how and delete this. If not - I think it would be a great feature in a future update. -
You can use Scenes/Blind Mode
or a gate between the trigger source and the trigger input of the jump actor in every scene and connect the gate input of the gate actor to a button in the control panel.

I think that's a great feature request!

Does blind mode not address this issue? Or do you see cases where blind mode is not sufficient?
-
no, Blind Mode does not suspend the function of the Jump actor. It does allow continued editing of scenes with the Jump process still functioning, but that's no good if you want to see the outcome of your edit in RT on the stage window.
Obviously in a dark and scary world this is a luxury problem, and I should probably just unlink the Trigger each time and carry on. But I think it would be cool if there was a 'Suspend Jump' option. I'm surprised there aren't others of me that think likewise.

@jfg thanks. please see my reply above. Blind mode does not suspend the function of the Jump actor. And thanks for the gate suggestion, but to my clumsy brain it seems more complex than just unhooking the trigger while editing. I was looking for a global solution built-in. But that's greedy of me if it isn't something others need...

You could create an User Actor that wraps the Jump actor, and uses some input to Gate on/off the Jump feature. Maybe use some Global value to switch the Jump state.
Of course you would then have to always use this Gated Jump as your Jump actor.
