triggering Syphon from within a scene? (still unanswered)

I'm picking up an old topic because it is still un-answered for me. The task is simply to automate the 'Record on' and ' 'Record off' function in Syphon from within a scene, allowing it to be triggered by the many synaesthesic ways that Isadora can redistribute tasks and actions.

The record on/off corresponds to the 'option-command-'r' ' keystroke combination. Manually is fine, but imprecise. I would appreciate any suggestions that readers may have.

So what I gather the core question here to be is you want to know how to send a keyboard command to another application from within Isadora, on Mac.

I think this will require some intermediate application to capture some output from Isadora and send the key command to the syphon recorder app.

@dusx yes. that's the core task, unless there is another way to to trigger start/stop recording in Syphon.

I'm guessing that a keystroke emulator within Izzy might have other uses too..?

There was a Quartz Keystroke emulator, but it has obviously been deprecated.
