WE would like to work with the live data in Isadora, is there another way / different workflow today?
Send in a ticket with the link in my signature. We have a beta version of the Rokoko Studio Live Watcher Isadora actor/plugin that works with the new version of Rokoko's software.
-
Alternatively, you could use the legacy version of Rokoko's Studio Live software and that will work fine with the current version of the Rokoko Studio Live Watcher Isadora actor/plugin that's on the TroikaTronix Add-Ons Page.
-
@woland I have just sent a ticket, thanks for the quick reply!
-
@woland The Legacy Rokoko Studio does not display an Isadora option for live streaming as it used to...
-
Your screenshot looks like it's still the recent version of the software, just set to a legacy setup mode.
You do actually need to use the legacy version of their software, which can be found here: https://support.rokoko.com/hc/en-us/articles/4410415520529-Getting-Started-Rokoko-Legacy

Here is what happened when I tried to use Rokoko Studio Legacy from the link you sent: when installing the legacy software, it updates automatically whithout a chance to avoid this. After opening / logging in I get the interface above with no Isadora option for livestreaming the data.

You'll need to contact Rokoko Support then and explain that you need access to the legacy version of their software for use with Isadora. That or you'll need to send in a ticket to us to join our beta program so you can use the updated Rokoko actor to work with the new software.

Thanks! It would be great if I could join the beta program. At the same time I will also contact Rokoko since we have performances in the beginning of July and want to use the Rokoko Smartsuit with Isadora.

@woland
Am curious to know what the resolution of this issue was.
If I am offered the opportunity to work with Rokoko Smart Suit, first generation, and would be installing their software for the first time on a PC, will I be able to get it to work with Isadora?
What steps would I need to follow? Which version of the Rokoko Studio Live Watcher actor would I need? Does Rokoko Studio Live current software still work with their gen 1 suits?
Many thanks -

I don't remember the resolution for this specific instance, but I can tell you from the final screenshot that it's a screenshot from the newer version of the Rokoko Studio software, and that the cube image at the bottom of the list is the one now used to stream to Isadora (they only had a dedicated Isadora streaming option in the legacy software). For instructions on using this version of the software, in the Scene Editor of Isadora 4.0.7 just right-click the Rokoko Studio Live Watcher actor and choose the top menu option in the contextual menu: "Show Actor Help in Browser". The in-browser help text for the updated Rokoko Studio Live Watcher actor has extra HTML at the top explaining the setup steps for the new Rokoko Studio software.

The newest version of the Rokoko Studio Live Watcher (which comes in the download for Isadora 4.0.7) and the newest version of the Rokoko Studio software should work with the v1 suit.
The tutorial and actor that come in Add-Ons Page download for the Rokoko Studio Live Watcher should work if you need to use the legacy version of the Rokoko Studio Software for the v1 suit.
Either way, you will also need to get the first paid tier of subscription for the Rokoko Software in order to stream the data from their software to any other software. The "Plus" tier costs $20USD/month.
If you run into any trouble just send in a ticket (link in my signature) and I can personally walk you through it since I have my own v1 suit.

You are, as ever, amazing. Thanks so much for the comprehensive answer: looks like I’ll be able to do what I want to do. Which is great. Thanks for the offer of further assistance. Much appreciated and I’ll take you up on that if and when the time comes.
many thanks
