Just received the CalDigit thunderbolt station today. On OS X 10.9 it works out of the box. On 10.8 you have to install an ethernet driver for the network to work.

DON'T INSTALL the driver on 10.9 otherwise your internet will not work at all, not even wifi. I have made the mistake. Had to reinstall maverick.

The build quality is great, and the device is much smaller than I thought it would be.

I've done some more testing with my Intensity Shuttle USB3 on Mavericks and I've got a problem : Intensity sound input has disappeared from Isadora and OSX audio preferences.

Has anybody else the same problem ?
                Best regards,

A little post for an information and a question about Intensity Shuttle USB3.

The information : Blackmagic has finally released a stable driver for Intensity Shuttle USB3 on Mac OS X.
The question : is there a way to capture stream from Intensity Shuttle for USB3 on Mac using AVFoundation framework ?
Currently, I'm unable to see all input settings (like 1080p25 for example) and someone on BlackMagic Design Forum told me that it is because Isadora doesn't use AVFoundation for capture.
See related post here : [http://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=27349](http://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=27349)
Has someone an idea or solution to make this work ? (I've an Isadora 2.0 license and use Isadora 2.0.0b4)
                  Best regards,
                  Jeremie

Isadora version 2.0 does use AVFoundation. I have the thunderbolt version so can't comment on that but I am pretty sure @Feinsinn has had it working (and he also has version 2)

Yes it works for me, but not with the newest Update. I had to install BMDDesktop Video 9.7.9 again, there it works. Macbook Pro with Intensity Shuttle USB 3

                      All the best,

                        @Skulpture

Yes Isadora does use AVFoundation but I think only for playback not for capturing.

@jgastonraoul To be clear, the reason that Isadora does not see all the input formats is due to its use of the old quicktime capture library, (this library is pretty much finished and will cease to be supported at all very shortly). I work with Avfoundation directly and the blackmagic API and I get full access to all the capture formats.

Until isadora adopts avfoundation capture (which has its own problems) or incorporates the blackmagic capture API into an actor (as resolume has done) you wont get these input formats. The fastest workaround is to use blacksyphon (written with the blackmagic api) and get the image with syphon. And hassle that Isadora gets a current capture system instead of the old quicktime.

Apologies I thought the video capture was also AVF.
