So how does this practically work? Do you take the signal through the ethernet cable into the computer? Or how would ghis setup work practically? I also saw osbot has an adapter from usb c to ethernet but Im not sure if this is what it does?

NDI is a protocol for sending good quality video across a network. It works very well, in my experience. I use it for sending video from one computer to another and also use it a lot to send subtitles from one Isadora computer to another.

If you open the NDI Watcher actor in Isadora it will give you a page with lots of information about how to use it.

It might be overkill for what you need now, and maybe @Fred's suggestion of a simple USB2 ethernet extender is the best option here.

I think this product is specific for that Obsbot Tail Air camera and probably won't work with your Insta360

@eva this is only designed for th very basic UBC set of commands and standard formats. The installing camera you were discussing on another thread has custom software that goes beyond the UBC protocol. Any communication outside of the UVC protocol (and it’s unclear if the insta link supports this at all) will not work with this device. UVC is not usb, it is a protocol for controlling basic usb camera settings in somewhat of a standardised way. This device will pass through a class compliant usb signal from a camera that uses h264. The insta link camera states that portrait and 4K are NOT h264 so you would also lose these resolutions. This device is not at all a good match for the insta link camera.

@eva this adds an Ethernet port to your computer that can also feed power to devices that use POE. It will not help you connect your insta link camera in any way.

This adds a network port to your computer that can inject power for POE devices. It will not help connect your insta link camera in any way.
