There is an example patch allowing DMX input here:

Best would be to use the texture projector.
Your actors will not disappear, they will either be automatically replaced by the new projector or the texture projector will stay in the old projects but you can't add them to new projects.

But you will not have to do all the work again.

I know this is an ancient thread but I just want to say for anyone who finds this and is trying to convert Michel's patch to use the regular movie players and projectors and is experience the two videos fading up and down together...

-Replace the CI Movie Player and CI Projectors in the patch with Movie Player and Projector actors
-Make sure to invert the Scale Min and Scale Max values for the Intensity of one of the projectors (clicking on the actual word "Intensity" on one of the projectors)
      -So, make Scale Min = 100 and Scale Max = 0

try mixing using the 'effect mixer'

using the 'xor' mode, I was able to get the effect you outlined..... it required a 'Video inverter' so maybe you can improve on it a bit, but that will get you started.

What I did is put a trigger delay in front of the one router and a delay inside of the crossfade user actor just to make sure that the triggers do their job in the right order.
I also deleted your video fade actors they are not necassary and your problem was that the video mixer was set to 50 so your video was not going out in full brightness.

Actually I was referring to Projector Actor inputs. Zoomer works on CPU only while Cl Projector and new Texture Projector can use GPU and are much better performing. a2513f-projector.png

For what it's worth, I want to add that I just tested this with other applications, and this problem is not limited to Isadora. It seems in 10.9 (and I'm assuming 10.10) that after the startup items are opened, the Finder has the focus -- i.e., it's is the frontmost app. (I tried this with QT Player, AppleScript Editor, Safari, etc.) Since you're not the only who's going to need this fix, I created a knowledge base article with the whole procedure spelled out. http://troikatronix.com/support/kb/stage-front-login-item/ Note: I'm not sure why you were using two command F's... one command G would do, no? Tried with AUNewTimePitch. Same problem. As soon as Rate <> 1, bingo, feedback with the top configuration on the attached snapshot. Bottom configuration works. Give a try !

Well, I find HAP and ProRes to be similar in efficiency once running on SSD.  But with HAP being texture output on gpu, yet running with the QKT engine, this makes it a bit different.
Lots more testing will determine my final favorite!

But it is definitely the case that Izzy 2.0 users need to be willing to pay more attention to codecs than before. There are more variables at stake since Mac introduced the AVFoundation framework... since they also took options (such as speed and panning control!) away...
I have found some people are a bit (dare I say it) lazy when it comes to being willing to look with fresh eyes at all the codec options. New users will need to pay more attention to reading the Knowledge base... IMHO... :)

Quad distort and Isadoras other tools are not enough to do this. To match any camera and proctor properly you can use openCVs calibration tools to generate a set of distortion matrixes. OpenCV then has the function warp into me that will apply this matrix to images. This is not that new, it has been going on for quite a while, and while well out of the scope of Isadora it is quite doable.

However, to achieve this you will need more advanced tools than Isadora as it has no implementation of openCV.

Sounds like it might be a video card issue... hard to nail down though.
