2.6 crashing: me too. Not to make a big deal about it, but submitted a bug report then reverted to 2.5.2. Kept it on my computer "just in case." Whew... show in a week. All is well with 2.5.2.

Thanks for submitting the crash report along with your ticket, and sorry for the problem.

The crash you had is in the function that checks for a new version. Go to Isadora Preferences -> Warnings -> Automatically Check for New Versions and set it to Never.

I've just updated the "Where Can I Download Older Versions of Isadora" page.

It now has v2.5.2 - click here to see the page.

              Dear All,

A further update. It seems that @Jamie-Nesbitt's bug may be related to playing HAP movies.

In v2.6, we added a feature to allow AVFoundation (the system that replaced QuickTime) to play HAP on macOS.

In past versions, even though you had chosen 'performance' in the 'optimize' input (which normally means "use AVFoundation"), Isadora would have reverted to using QuickTime to play your HAP movies.

But now, AVFoundation will play those movies, and there may be a bug.

              I'm investigating further right now.

But if you are using HAP, and you want to continue using v2.6, for the moment I would set the 'optimize' input to 'interaction' to force the use of QuickTime when playing HAP movies.

              Best Wishes,

Go to Isadora Preferences > Warnings > Check for Updates and set the Automatically Check for New Versions popup to Never. Your crash is because of a feature we reinstated where Isadora checks for a new version periodically. That will solve your crash.

But can you help me with figure this out please?

                          1) Was your internet connection disabled when this happened?

                          2) Does your internet connection require a proxy?

                          3) Is there anything else unusual about your internet connection?

                          4) Do you use a VPN?

                          5) How do you have you Gatekeeper security settings? Do you have it set to allow "Mac App Store and Identified Developers" ?

The console log you sent shows a lot of TCP/IP errors... this is probably related to the crash. Let me know the answers to the above questions as soon as you get a chance.

                            @Woland,

Do you have 10.12 installed? The crashes related to the update check both happened on 10.12, and I don't have that version anywhere. If you do, can you report if you had any trouble with this crash? Can you go to the Help Menu and choose "Check for Updates" to see if anything bad happens?

                            Thanks,

                              2) no proxy, nothing unusual with connection... I don't have internet in my studio

                              4) no VPN

                                  I'm actually on 10.11.4

I don't have a standard license, but I opened an old patch with 2.6 (standard), in demo mode, nothing bad happens when I click "Isadora updates" or "check for new version regardless of whether or not I am connected to the internet.

I opened an old patch with 2.6 (USB), in demo mode, nothing bad happens when I click "Isadora updates" or "check for new version regardless of whether or not I am connected to the internet.

I did find a visual bug with the control panel but I'll file a bug report later. I'm headed to the women's march in NYC soon.

                                        Hi, just for your information:

Kind of similar issue here with MacPro (2013) OSX10.11.6. Isadora 2.6 gets jammed (not really crashed), the stage still runs, but the program is stuck after every 5mins. There comes a white rectangular over the interface, and all the application menus are greyed (non-functional), and Isadora cannot be quit but has to be Force Quit.

Interestingly this does not happen in my MacBookPro (2016) OSX10.12.6, where Isadora 2.6 runs without problem.

                                        Best
