      Hello,

      I just tried with 2 cams (iPhone4 + iPod5) and it work perfectly with 640x480def.
      Just be careful to check Settings->Privacy->Microphone that EpocCam Multicam is allowed to use microphone (that was the Kinoni help).
      If not the app crashes on start.

          I was talking to @feinsinn on Skype and we had a question... for everyone really not just @Kinoni
          On a mac (and presumably on Windows) you can create a network, also known as an adhoc network. This is what I have been doing to test this amazing app. I am not sure what the limitation speed is for the mac I use.

          All I know is that my mac has a "AirPort Extreme, 802.11g"

          So my question;
          If I wanted to use multiple devices using this amazing app and multiple syphon outputs - could I buy a better and stronger external WIIF hub, plug that in via LAN and then create a WIFI network? Basically NOT use my macs physical antena and use a better one?
          I ask because there is potentially a lot of data going through the air... and presumably a faster wifi router is better?

            All, when connecting multiple devices do you see high CPU loads? If yes, is it an issue? My guess is that we could cut video processing CPU usage by 50% but that requires lots of work. So if it is not an issue right now, we'll do it later.

            @Skulpture

            Some thoughts on WiFi performance. Updating to latest Apple Airport Extreme WiFi base station will immediately boost network speed. Definitely it is better to connect Mac to router via cable to reduce network load. Also make sure router uses less crowded 5 GHz band.
            Would USB-connection help here? Or are iOS devices physically far away from Mac?
            @mark
            Cool, we already have DirectShow-plugin for Windows. Multicamera still would need some work. Can you share any statistics what percentage of Isadora users are running Windows and Mac?

            Thanks for posting the workaround, we will fix the bug for next release.

              @Skulpture & @Kinoni - I'm going to be doing some testing on an existing project with 2 cams today and will report back, but I'm already using a wifi router. My cam distances require it, and I'm sure for speeds it's better. So the Izzy mac is hard wired to the fastest router I could get, with a fixed IP, and the only things on the network are the two cams. I'm connecting one only a couple of meters away, but the other one is 20 meters away and through walls.

                Hey, WINDOWS users: anyone else getting a grey screen (similar to the attached picture) as the complete signal from the iPhone, or is it just me? This is EpocCam HD on Windows 7 Pro, using the latest Windows drivers (v2.8.1).

                I'm actually curious about the MAC-Windows split, too!

                Thanks,

                  Tested the multicam and everything seams to work as it should. One thing I would like to see is that the computer can be wired or wifi (same network). This would save bandwidth do you think thats possible? For example TouchOSC doesn't care if wired or wifi or iTeleport.

                    Not sure if I understood what you mean but you should be already able to connect Mac to router wirelessly (wifi) or via network cable (wired). Are you saying cable-connection does not work if you disable wifi from your Mac?

                      I have just tested EpoCam HD in rehearsals and performances on an ad-hoc network. Works well. However, on an iphone (any smartphone?) you need to take out the SIM card, otherwise EpoCam looses the network connection when you receive a phone call.

                        You are right, the last time I checked it (quite a while ago) it did not work. And the message "disconnected from wireless network" maked me think it is still the same. But it does work.

                          This is a known limitation on iOS, apps cannot access camera while on background. I guess it is the same with Android. A workaround for removing SIM card could be to first turn on airplane mode and then turn on WiFi.
                          @Michel
                          You are right, the text is misleading. Good that wired connection works now, I cannot even test it myself with MacBook Air :-)

                            Thank you for the feedback on how the wireless logic works! On my phone I've been able to simply put it in airplane mode and then turn the Wi-Fi back on and am no longer interrupted by calls. No need to remove the Sim card. I haven't noticed the access CPU load is being a problem but if I started using this in more complicated projects that would definitely be something that would getting my way. Again thank you so much for this amazing app!!!

                              @kinoni had a rehearsal yesterday with 2 iphones, worked really well. so for a performance I´m thinking to get a wifi router to have a safer signal. Is there one you can recommend?

                              The flightmode trick works also, thanx!

                                @feinsinn I am no network expert but here are some tips. As mentioned above you should use less crowded 5 GHz frequency band, so if you are buying a router check that it supports separate 5 GHz network. I guess in rehearsal there are not so many wireless devices interfering as during a performance with audience, so connection quality is likely to get worse. Using lower resolutions will help here as they use less bandwidth.

                                Good luck with the performance, I'm feeling some pressure here if the app crashes in the middle :-)

                                  I think @feinsinn will be the first user to use the app is a true performance setting. Will be interesting to see how it goes :)

                                    Dear Skulpture,

                                    I think he is not the first one! I used it for a performance November 17… I first used AirBeam Pro before and I had problem with WiFi (same with Kinoni) but principally with the way AirBeam works with orientation, trying to correct and adapt vertical or horizontal view.
                                    The way I use it now is avoiding HD (too much bandwith) and putting the WiFi router on stage (link to the computer via RJ45), with a visual contact to the iPod. There is some glitch and a little delay, but the performer is acting like using a real iPhone, so everything right. It's important to avaoid the double WiFi (iPod to router and router to computer). The show is on tour now, and there is no hotline call from the technician… I send a picture who illustrate it.
                                    Happy new year.

                                          Related to performance in general we have noticed that newer iPhones work better in general - there is a big difference between for example iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 in delay (faster video processing and network), quality (camera hardware) and stability (no CPU overload causing network timeouts). Also our other iOS test devices such as iPad 2 and iPod touch (4th generation) much perform worse than iPhone 5\. Upgrading iOS hardware is surely expensive but might be worth trying if delay is an issue.
