write and read to google drive

      Writing is easy.

Synch a Google Drive folder to your computerSet the destination of captured video and pictures from Isadora by going to Output > Set Captured Media Folder
Use the Capture Stage to Picture, Capture Stage to Movie, or Capture Camera to Movie actors and the files will go to the chosen folder (as will any recordings made with Output > Start/Stop Recording Stage). For writing text files, just provide the Data Array with the proper file path to the folder or keep the Isadora file itself in the synched Google Drive folder and just fill in the file name.

      For reading files:

For macOS and Windows: The Python option (if you join the beta program)Windows-Only: @Juriaan 's IzzyDynamicMediaBin projectWindows-Only: Use Spout SlideshowmacOS-Only: @mark's adaptation of @primaldivine's method of creating an AppleScript automation that watches a specific folder (which can be the synched Google Drive folder) and runs whenever a new file is added: https://community.troikatronix.com/topic/3246/applescript-solution-logged-how-to-dynamically-load-media-files-videos-photos/9

Personally, I'd suggest option #4. If you want to try that one, follow Mark's instructions on the link. If you need to modify the behavior for the script, you can go to our "Isadora and AppleScript" tutorial article to learn more about what's possible with AppleScript and Isadora (don't forget to download the example files at the bottom of the article!).

      sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBFTDI

       Hi Jurian,

thanks for the tip. But this is what I get from the terminal after having put your command

      armando-new:~ armando$ sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBFTDI

      Password:

(kernel) Kext com.apple.driver.AppleUSBFTDI not found for unload request.

Failed to unload com.apple.driver.AppleUSBFTDI - (libkern/kext) not found.

      armando-new:~ armando$

Does this menas that the Apple drivers are not installed ?

      Thanks

      Armando

May ,it would be interesting, to have a board with the z translation value according to the FOV value to make the edges of the image match up to the edges of the stage frame !

It's pretty easy to find this by simply shift-clicking in the 'fov' input value and dragging the mouse up or down until it the edges match. (When you shift click and then drag, you get a finer resolution.) It only takes a second to do this.

      Best Wishes,
      Mark

Still wondering why this is default on and not off ?

Because when it's off, if you duplicate/copy+paste Controls within a document because you want more of a particular Control or set of Controls, it doesn't increment the Control IDs of the new Controls. Copying Controls within a document and wanting them to get their own Control IDs is a more common use case than wanting to copy Controls between documents while preserving the Control IDs, which is why it's enabled by default.
