2.1 and Difference and Eyes Actors
-
Updating some projects that I have in pre-2.1, I have found I still must use the Classic Video In Watcher in order to pass it through the Difference Actor into Eyes. Am I missing something or is this in need of update to work in 2.1?
Thanks in Advance,Kevin -
You first have to attache the "difference" actor to eyes and then ad the "video in watcher" to difference. So instead of starting at the beginning of the chain start at the end.

For the moment you will need to use the GPU to CPU Converter actor to work with Eyes or Eyes++. We will make these actors fully GPU compatible in the v2.2 release in late December, and an updated version of the plugin will be made available as soon as it is ready.
So, what I would do is to use the GPU enhanced version of Difference, and convert the video to CPU based just before Eyes or Eyes++.(Note that the updated plugin will have no advantage over using the GPU to CPU Converter, because the video must be on the CPU to do the analysis; the updated plugin will simply do this for you.)Best Wishes,Mark -
also note that you can take advantage of gpu based scaling in the GPU to CPU converter actor. This is useful for 2 reasons.1- using a lower resolution for Eyes has always been a smart savings of CPU power2- getting the lower resolution from the GPU saves addition CPU cycles.
