Epoccam Feature Requests for Kinoni?
-
i had not.i have now. all connected up very quickly. seeing the occasional freezing of the stream, not for long and soon back to stream.i hope the drivers can be sorted out as when i tested the epoccam through isadora's live capture settings i felt that the stream was much more robust. -
-
My Facetime camera has now stopped working... directly after installing the drivers. Hmmmmm.
-
also my webcam stops working after the install.
-
I had to shut down and restart - solved it.
-
I updated the app too, a couple of days ago, hoping it would solve my problems, but it has not. I get a grey screen with the occasional flicker, like static, of an image. Sounds a lot like the green screen thing, above. I'm on Windows 7.
Cheers,
Hugh

Everyone, thanks for all the comments. I was locked down in basement for a week to implement multi-camera support. It is now basically working, some work still to do but now we can export four 720p HD streams to Syphon simultaneously. We had to modify iOS client code for multi-cam support, meaning there will be another iOS "Syphon camera" app available soon. For that we can implement multi-camera, USB-support, OSC messages and other features relevant to Isadora users.
@feinsinn: are you using iPhone 4? That device seems to cause issues with iOS 7\. Surely the app should work on all supported devices, we are currently investigating the issue. Your webcam stopped working after installing the Syphon app or our previous OS X drivers?@particlep: Did I understand correctly that video stream is more robust through Isadora than our app window? Even if they use the very same source for video.@Skulpture: Did you install our Syphon app? That is just an ordinary application, hard to see how could it interfere with webcam drivers.@CitizenJoe: What device / iOS version are you using? As said above we are aware of some iPhone 4 issues. If you have some other device, it could be a different issue. -
Hi @Kinoni a quick restart and it was all fine. May not have been related or it was just a fluke.
I have been testing it on and off all week with the Syphon. Very good app and I am going to give it a mention on my blog/website for sure :) -
yes. the one time the stream worked via the isadora live capture settings window the video feed was faultless. when i used the app (as the live capture settings window was green screening) i saw momentary freezing of the stream.this to me suggests that it's a reception not broadcast originated issue.many thanks for working with us to get your great app working with isadora. -
@Kinoni, EpocCamSyphonViewer works out of the box, OSX 10.9. iPad mini iOS7, well done. 10 out of 10.
-
@kinoni great work! multicam and OSC would be really fantastic! So my Facetime Camera seems to work in Isadora. Maybe its like Skulpture mentioned, a reboot thing. Yes its an IPhone 4 with IOS7.

Hello everybody, long time without coming here!
I just finished a video scenography including live images with air beam and I am very impressed by the quality of epoccam. It would be good to have the possibility to reduce the bandwidth, to avoid some freezing. But the possibility to not have the image moving between vertical and horizontal is very great (not the same in AirBeam, trying to change the size…).I wait for the next developments!Bravo, Jacques hoepffner -
@kinoni just tested the syphon viewer with my IPad 4 Retina, works great with Isadora. Thank you so much.
@mark syphon to video actor works, but syphon to image doesnt seem to work right. But there is always the possibility of the video to image actor.Managed to run Epoccam (IPad4) and AirBeam (IPhone4) at the same time. http://youtu.be/qMwBs5r9dPQ -
Everyone, thanks for the positive comments and feedback. That gives us motivation to make our software more useful for Isadora users. As interesting as the multi-cam support and other features are to implement, we also need to think about financial side. As I said before we need to create a iPhone / Android app for multi-camera support and other features discussed in this thread. It will be free to try but to unlock all the features customers need to pay for something. Any comments what would be reasonable price tag for a product with 4 camera support and other features discussed in this thread?
In this thread I can see people want at least-multi-cam support (almost done, will released soon)-OSC-USB support (with 1080p support)-higher framerates (60 or 120 frames per second)What is your priority order, what features are most needed? We can then implement those first.@Skulpture. Thanks for the feedback. You might want to wait for multi-camera support before mentioning our app in your blog.@particlep: Could be network bandwidth issue as well. We need to add settings to limit needed bandwidth.@rainbow: Good to hear it works since this is just our first public try-out.@feinsinn: Multicam is coming soon. For OSC we probably add features release by release, based on what users want.@jhoepffner: Thanks, we believe we have the best quality and lowest bandwidth requirement. I agree that bandwidth / resolution should be adjustable. Added to our TODO-list. -
Thanks @Kinoni
In terms of priority I would personally say in the order you have listed them :) -
@Kinoni Is Epoccam compatible with SKYPE 6.6.0.467 on MBP OSX Lion 10.7.5 & iPhone OS 7.0.4? Back in July when this thread started there was an issue. sorry for the slightly off topic question.

Just an observation on Multi-Cam support. It's currently possible on a Mac. Just duplicate the Syphon Viewer, open one phone and one viewer so that they connect, then open the other viewer and cam and they will connect. The only thing is that the two cameras are identically named within the Syphon actor, but otherwise it's great!
-
@vanderzee It still does not work. Looks like Skype for OS X has changed the way it uses webcam, basically using newer webcam-API. This is something we are already working on, but can't promise you any dates when it is available.

Hello,
For me EpoccamHD with Syphon is working fine, but it would be good to have the possibility to use the free one without logo, because it's more stable with wifi.I revote for the possibility to change definition and framerate (like in Ai....m…)But I like the possibilities of Epoccam.Jaques Hoepffner -
All, thanks for the feedback. As requested we have now added feature to change video resolution. EpocCam free version only supports 640x480, paid version supports also 1280x720 and soon-to-be-published multicamera version also supports 352x288. To change resolution just start viewer as normal and wait for iPhone to connect. A new menu will appear called 'Camera1'. That menu will list all available resolutions and allows changing them. After choosing new resolution client will be briefly disconnected and reconnected with desired resolution. Link to new drivers:
[http://kinoni.com/osxviewerpro](http://kinoni.com/osxviewerpro)All feedback is very welcome, the app most probably has some bugs.Next steps are to publish multi-camera version and then we will look into OSC support. Will keep you updated.
