Projecting a Zoom Call
-
Hello,
I am still a beginner at using Isadora so it would be amazing if someone could help me out with this.
I've looked through the forum and on YouTube to find the answer for this...but haven't succeeded...
I was wondering how I can use Zoom (through a phone), so essentially using the phone as a live webcam and then sending that live feed into Isadora so I can projection map it.
I've downloaded ZoomOSC and have managed to trigger some things from Isadora into Zoom thanks to Liminal Entertainment Technologies on YouTube, but I'm just not sure how I can project the live feed coming from Zoom.
If anyone can help, that would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

I've not done this with Zoom on a phone, but here are some other ways:
- Zoom on a laptop and using Screen Capture actor.
- VDO.ninja on a phone, using Vingester on a laptop into the Screen Capture actor. Ninja can be set to give a cleaner feed than Zoom.
- IzzyCast.
- Skype has a NDI out function, but brands the image with a watermark in the corner.
- Zoom on a phone, plus one of the many screen sharing apps that can broadcast your phone screen to a laptop. I'm sure some of these have Syphon/Spout or NDI integrated to get the image into Isadora - or use the Screen Capture actor.edit: You could also use OBS and NDI out of there into Isadora.
It would be helpful if you were to let us know what platform, operating system, etc you are using.
(Apologies if any of these functions are still only available on Beta - i don't have public release versions of Isadora installed - but if this is the case, you could contact the team to get access to Beta functions) -
Thank you so much for your answer.
I am using a Macbook Pro with the Sonoma 14.3.1 operating system.

It's been a minute since I've done this (as I've found that having the phones use an NDI HX app to send their video gives a sturdier connection), but I've used the setup you describe a couple of times. Make sure the ZoomOSC meeting is hosted on the laptop that is also running Isadora. Then, in ZoomOSC, you can tick an option for each video feed to be sent over Syphon. Finally, in Isadora, you just have to use a Syphon Receiver Actor to receive that video.
I bet you're already really close to exactly what you need.Best,
Rory
