I would suggest the simplest solution here is to use the Isadora Arduino Firmata actor...

I can chime in to this as I use a USB microscope with Isadora. I have had no problem with the camera being recognised by the Live Capture Settings...

Did you setup output midi under Communications - Midi Setup? Pitch range from 0-127 were 0 starts at note C-2 and 127 ends at note G8.

Finally, on the ATEM control topic, we've had excellent results using Companion to control ATEM switches. They were great in rehearsals when we needed buttons on the Streamdeck to quickly switch cameras.

I think for the show we stripped it back and used a wee app simply called atemOSC which receives the OSC commands and parses them on to an ATEM. Eventually, the OSC came from the LX desk which was driven by timecode, no buttons needed! But it could obviously be tied into your Issy patch.

Yes, we know the track listing ahead of time.

And after reading your post I had a 'doh!' moment. (Imagine me slapping my forehead!). I realise we're both overthinking this: I can simply use the Blackmagic Media Express software to capture the phone's audio and video and play that movie back in Isadora. Might re-encode it first to save on file size, though! Easy peasy! Thank you, Lucas!

I imagine you could use a Value Delay Line actor as a way to ensure you can write any incoming value to a data array before passing it along to the rest of the patch.
This should allow you to determine if the issue is before or after the Value Delay Line, and if its after, you should be able to see the data saved to the txt file. If the issue is before the Value Delay Line (which I think should be directly after the receiving actor) we can look more closely at the TCP parsing side of things.

thanks for quick replies! and (duh) i had forgot the other intensity controls inside the projector once the mapping is used. 

I will experiment with incorporating the different slices in the same projector, but it gets a bit fiddly, so I had made separate mapped projectors to keep it simple. However, this is good stuff. Many thanks...
