      And regarding your second question;

      I use the 'Output' value; the output is either a 0 or a 1 (a number value), if you connect that to a true or false (a boolean value) it causes 0 = false and 1 = true

      That way we don't need a Trigger value.

      Thanks for the guidance, it was very helpful and made our show possible. In the end, we used the timecode audio track.

      I am going to look into the timecore device in the near future with the view of improving on what we have done so far.

      'extend screen'

       Since you have extend screen set, I assume you have more than one display connected. The second display is likely projector since you are mapping?
      You need to change which display the stage is assigned to via the Stage Setup dialog. Once you set the stage to use the second display, you should have your output on the second display and still have access to Isadora on your main display. In this way you can open IzzyMap and make changes live.

      Additionally, IzzyMap has the ability to publish parameters for external modification.. this allows live adjustment via any input you like.. for example you could use the color of a video input to change the rotation of a mapping. You can publish parameters by right-clicking points and selecting to publish them. Then when you close IzzyMap you can adjust these values externally. I don't think this is what you were asking about, but it might be of interest.

      Thanks for the opportunity to work with the new Leap Motion Actor. I really appreciate it. It works flawlessly.

       By the looks of it, it is tracking the palm data location and rotation. If I could make a humble request, the one point I find very useful in the ultraleap SDK is the index next distal point (index fingertip). I think it's a useful point for screen drawing and general motion capture for mapping to all kinds of things. I know that the rotation value is not accessible for the fingertips, but I think the position for the index fingertip would open up all kinds of possibilities.

      Yes you are right, with a BLE-only board you should consume less energy.

      Unfortunately I cannot commit to a specific date for the launch yet.
      The momentum I get through the pre-launch page subscriptions will heavily weight on how fast the pre-order campaign can actually start. I hope to be able to open the pre-orders in roughly a month if all goes well, but there is an if. Then production starts, so there will be few month before people receive them.
      Reach out to me on insta, depending on what you are trying to do, when, for how long, etc, maybe you could be a beta tester ;)

      Using this ascii chart: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/dd/ASCII-Table.svg

      I can see that when you receive a Distance, you are getting the value followed by cm and a carrage return and a line feed. so "\r\n"

      You get the same EOL for your errors, so you should be able to use the Serial In Watcher - Text actor with a EOL of 13. You can use this same msg:string={00-FF} to allow all character thru.

      for Mac

      You'll have a better time working with the Kinect on an Intel Mac because on an Apple Silicon computers (M1, M2, M3, etc) you'll need to right-click the Isadora application on your desktop or in the Applications folder, choose "Get Info", and check "Open using Rosetta". (You only need to change this setting once on an Apple Silicon machine, but if you don't do it, the OpenNI Tracker actor won't show up in the program. I'm not sure but you might need to do it again if you update to a newer version of Isadora, as the new Isadora 4 application will replace the old Isadora 4 application and I'm not sure if the setting is preserved through that process.)

       If this is something you are considering, you might look at Python rather than Javascript. When working in Isadora, python will open up many more possibilities, and once you learn one it will make the other much easier.

       I am afraid that the python work is exciting to me but a bit on the boring side:

      I am migrating 20 years worth of studio archives on LTO5 and HDD. I had been using Tolis BRU for the LTO archives which is now, of course, out of business. I've upgraded to LTO8 and don't ever want use a proprietary system again so I moving to completely open standards for the tape archives - Python, Linux, CSV, SQLite and GNU PAX TAR. (LTFS has show stopping limitations for me)

      I am finding it a really rewarding project - I'm getting a better understanding of modular multi-layer development in python and have really been excited about what you can accomplish with Github Copilot. It's a bit buggy, but it is so much better than copy/paste/repeat from an LLM. You can really refine the context, have it asses your modules and codebase when building and refactoring etc. Up to this point, I've spent most of my time planning, building GUI drafts and developing the architecture to make things super clear for me and for co-pilot.

      The crossover with Isadora is learning more about python and about programming concepts in general. I have done lots of bits of Javascript for AfterEffects/Isadora and Python for Resolve and Blender on my own and using Claude and GPT. I can't wait to use VS Code and Copilot to continue that work - there is so much less back and forth when the context is clarified. I am also excited to work with the Pythoner actor, too.

      @wjmackwood-0

      This change was made to avoid a situation where the range of channels being input dynamically would break many setups. Since changing this input changes the actual number of outputs, there is no way to dynamically connect these outputs if new ones are added, and if the number is made less the connections which were made are lost.
      This approach of limiting the dynamic input of parameters that change the Input and Output count of actors was made throughout the software, and helped to address a few reported issues/bugs.

      How were you using the chan # outputs?

      Perhaps this is a case where a macro might be better suited since you can have different settings in each copy.

      There's also multiple ways of triggering cues without the "Edit Go Triggers". Here are some files of mine that I believe are relevant to that (and some related to the Cue Sheet function):

      cueing_example-2023-05-12-3.2.6.izz

      manual-override-for-automatic-cues-2024-02-06-3.2.6.izz

      Additionally, if you're just talking about Scene Navigation, the "Scene Select" control can be clicked to jump back to a Scene, and the "Next Cue" and "Prev Cue" controls can be used to jump to the next Scene and Previous Scene respectively.

      I replied to your other post, but based on this description, and for the benefit of other people wanting to do the same thing who see this post, I'm going to point you to:

      The Alpha Mask Tutorial that we have on our Add-Ons Page: https://troikatronix.com/add-ons/tutorial-alpha-mask/This should be helpful if you want to use the body of the performer as an alpha mask rather than having an image follow them around.I believe this or the tutorial mentioned below also has a "video follow spot" Scene near the end that causes a Shapes actor to follow the performer around. Replace the Shapes actor with a Picture Player and then use a Zoomer's 'horz center' and 'vert center' inputs and you should be able to move your .png around in the same way.The Motion Tracking Tutorial that we have on our Add-Ons Page: https://troikatronix.com/add-ons/tutorial-basic-motion-tracking/
