 Maybe this old thread of mine could help to start on something. Back then I worked with Premiere EDL exports to interprete them as timecode triggers. I'm not familiar with Davinci, but maybe there is some way to transform the script to work with similar files from it (I found some youtube videos which claim to describe the export of EDLs from Davinci, but I didn't check them out).

I didn't work with this since the project I used it for (I needed to tranfer thousands of surtitle cues). So no guaranty that it still works. But maybe i'ts a starting point.

As part of the show, I created 14 paper robots that, using Isadora 3, send an OSC signal to ESP32 to control the servo motor ( wireless).

Please come to see it. And, please share my performance with people who are in Zurich or friends who are planning to go to the festival ~ 🫡❤️❤️I would love to hear some feedback.

In the GUI I can change IPs ,  SSIDs + password, and port numbers, but not OSC Adresses. That's surely a unwanted lapsus on their site.

As they say, the system is meant to be used by assigning a different port to each sensor.

@juriaan Thanks a lot. I know that new systems, especially when still in beta would not run on a computer with a mission critical izzy patch especially on a new Isadora version.... too many moving parts. But thanks again. Please keep us posted if you find some problems between sequoia and izzy 4.0

@dillthekraut there is also "protokol" which outputs a stream of OSC values to a user-defined-length text file (for example 50 lines of osc values). I had the idea to read the stream with some kind of lightweight script and generate GUI status graphics with select extracted values. Might be a "later" project as I am loving the isadora grapher actor and it seems quite lightweight. As I am using Resolume for my video engine and Isadora for my logic, having a small isadora stage on my monitor with the grapher and a few doo-dads seems to add very little overhead.

How very exciting! I am looking forward to digging in. We just finished a proof of concept show for our project a couple weeks ago with great success and are building to a larger production now. Looking forward to the pythoner, the show/hide controls, user actor help, and the cool new look. I am so happy to see all of the new developments. Congratulations to all of you on the new version release!

It really depends on your media; the movie player is tuned and heavily tested every single time that we do a release on multiple platforms, and multiple devices. But I don't believe our testsuite contains a movie file with that resolution.

Great to hear that OpenNI is still functional, and for sure! Python opens a lot of doors for future work / machine learning models that we can utilize to track performers in a space. I know that the team is really invested in this, and we will likely share more about that / publish that to the Add-on store when we are happy with the results.

You can of course link together an number of separate tools, sharing video and audio via Syphon or NDI, but you need to manage a lot more on your system. eg: you could trigger lighting cues in your remote performers space from your Isadora project, Or allow your remote participants to send votes on different topics to you driving Realtime info graphics.

As far as cost, it is not necessary to have a live IzzyCast session running to program most things. Anything you do with the data channel can be worked out over a broadcaster/listener pair. Of course its not for everyone. We struggled working out a fair price for IzzyCast credits. So much has gone into setting up this new tool and so much more has to go into it to maintain it as we move forward. It is our hope that it becomes a powerful tool in the toolbox that is Isadora, and we look forward to seeing what the community makes of it.
