      @chickenroll

Yes, you are missing one step. You need to right-click your Movie Player actor and select 'Use Timecode'

edit: I think you may also need to move your SRT file to the same folder as your Mov file (your SRT Player is currently showing an error: file not found), and, of course, send your subtitles to a Text Draw actor to render them to your Projector

@woland Well for example changing the shape of the fade, why would anyone ever want a value other than 1?  That sort of thing, a better explanation of the settings would be helpful.  And also it would be great to link the left and right settings together because almost all of the time I'm using the same values for right and left fades....

Unfortunately, I am time poor to create a tutorial atm.

Once you've got more time we'd love it if you could upload it to the TroikaTronix Add-Ons Page if you haven't already.

Cool things like this tend to get buried in the forum over time.

      Best wishes,

I did a little research and it appears to be possible to develop using the Python bindings provided for the Orbbec SDK, which support connecting to the device over Ethernet, although it would likely be easier to first do some test dev with it connected via USB.

I don't have this device otherwise I might look into making an example. I do hope to do a generic Orbbec over USB example soon though.

Both work well for me. And often it is easier to make .mov files. (if you are using ffmpeg or shutterencoder to transcode to .avi watch that your framerate remains consistent.. there is/was a known bug).
One up side of AVI on windows is that you can have thumbnails in explorer (easily) it seems like a little thing, but really is helpful.
I use ShutterEncoder to transcode my archive footage to HAP, for me this has worked well.

@woland: Thank you very much. This helps a lot.

I think I just messed up the whole path/to/file things- definitely helps with saving the file in the same directory as the izzy file.

@dusx hello, and super thank you.

the reason for all this is, that onyx is not able to get direct order to jump to a  specific cue via midi or osc. it is simply not possible. but with telnet it is. it does not depend on pc or console, so we will test your script and ask for more support. maybe you can test it for us. because we are verÿ bad in coding.

it would be ok for us to use only one client connection to onyx, because isadora is our main control hub. thx.

Many Isadora users will have developed techniques for isolating a performer from the background of a live video feed.

I replied to your other post, but based on this description, and for the benefit of other people wanting to do the same thing who see this post, I'm going to point you to:

The Alpha Mask Tutorial that we have on our Add-Ons Page: https://troikatronix.com/add-ons/tutorial-alpha-mask/This should be helpful if you want to use the body of the performer as an alpha mask rather than having an image follow them around.I believe this or the tutorial mentioned below also has a "video follow spot" Scene near the end that causes a Shapes actor to follow the performer around. Replace the Shapes actor with a Picture Player and then use a Zoomer's 'horz center' and 'vert center' inputs and you should be able to move your .png around in the same way.The Motion Tracking Tutorial that we have on our Add-Ons Page: https://troikatronix.com/add-ons/tutorial-basic-motion-tracking/

This change was made to avoid a situation where the range of channels being input dynamically would break many setups. Since changing this input changes the actual number of outputs, there is no way to dynamically connect these outputs if new ones are added, and if the number is made less the connections which were made are lost.
This approach of limiting the dynamic input of parameters that change the Input and Output count of actors was made throughout the software, and helped to address a few reported issues/bugs.

How were you using the chan # outputs?

Perhaps this is a case where a macro might be better suited since you can have different settings in each copy.

If this is something you are considering, you might look at Python rather than Javascript. When working in Isadora, python will open up many more possibilities, and once you learn one it will make the other much easier.

      Using this ascii chart: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/dd/ASCII-Table.svg

I can see that when you receive a Distance, you are getting the value followed by cm and a carrage return and a line feed. so "\r\n"

You get the same EOL for your errors, so you should be able to use the Serial In Watcher - Text actor with a EOL of 13. You can use this same msg:string={00-FF} to allow all character thru.
