I tried using the position method , where the position of one "master" movie player controls the position of the rest, but that resulted in jittery playback.

I will try out the speed 0/1 method next, thank you for that idea!

SMPTE code is encoded in an audio track, it can be easily sent and converted over distance. You can also use midi timecode for sync this works well. Many motu cards have the ability to convert to and from MTC <> LTC but their drivers for USB are awful so this only works on firewire.

It can be done in a variety of ways from Isadora but search sync in the forums, avoid jamming the position of one system into the position of another, a better way is to compare position and adjust speed of a slave accordingly, less overhead, I have worked like this a lot and been able to get pretty tight sync.

It would be much better to play the video and audio from the same system (or as much as you can)

You can also make the movie with an audio track that is timecode (you can generate LTC here http://elteesee.pehrhovey.net/) then send thius as audio to an LTC receiver, or convert it to MTC with this on mac https://figure53.com/lockstep/ or this on PC https://www.videotoolshed.com/...

Do you have more than one version of Isadora on your machine?

Try right clicking and saying 'Open With...' select Isadora.

@craigw a few questions to help narrow this

Is your capture interlaced or progressive? 

Is your video (the files you play back) 59.94 or 60? and Interlaced or progressive?

Did you try out of curiosity the 29.97 setting? 

Are you using the blackmagic capture driver or the windows one?

How many inputs are you running?

What are you general service tasks set to?

What are your outputs set to (screenshot the NVIDIA settings if you can)?

Just a quick troubleshoot to identify the problem, With no inputs enabled at all do you get the glitch?

Can you switch your capture to 60fps (I know you will not get an image from your inputs) and see if you get the glitch?

3D is not my strongest point, and I suspect the best qualified to answer this would be @mark.
However, have you looked at the virtual stage as an option for render control. Using this actor you can specify the render dimensions.
Note that the range of the XYZ translates are -100 thru 100, and rotations -360 thru 360.

I think given your use case of feeding a rendered 3D model to 2 projectors (stages) I would use the virtual stage option, since it allows the renderer to be uncoupled from the video preference settings.

Hi,

I notice from your screengrab that you have the Adobe Creative Cloud active in your Menu Bar. The Adobe CC desktop app has been known to cause problems with running Isadora. You may need to quit the Adobe app to get the best performance from Isadora.

Hi, Don’t forget the application FontBook that ships with MacOS. It allows you to preview and install fonts into your system. It also checks the fonts for any corrupt files.

You'll need to do some tracking then. Take a look at the tracking methods I linked in this post.

I repurposed that patch to be a starting point for you, which switches between two videos based on whether tracking is occuring or not. (Tracking method and batteries not included.)

I would go with apple script and automator, and maybe osculator if needed, it will be pretty flexible and fast to setup, as well as having a lot of great info on forums.

Hi mark, thanks so much for getting back and clarifying on how this plugin works-seems to confirm/breakdown what I thought was happening (I gave this a go with jitter a ways back but never quite got it resolved there) Bummer that gpu may not be feasible and as I am not adept at shader programming I will need to continue to rely on the classic cpu version for now unless anyone else has ideas/alternative solutions to test out.

Just a small comment from me; scaling is key here. The values of the mapper are very small/sensitive. 

I have used a routing option for this.
