Are you using the Kinect V2 with the OpenNI Tracker plugin? (TROIKATRONIX : ISADORA - OpenNI Tracker)
If you are wanting to use it for body tracking, it should work with this plugin if you follow the instructions (require running in Rosetta mode on non-Intel macs)

it is always going to start out low res and low quality, but you can smooth out the image slightly if you are OK with losing some definition. I use Scaler to increase the resolution of the image, that gives me more pixels to work with, even if the source image is still low res. A combination of Gaussian Blur and Threshold will produce smoother outlines that match your scaled image.

Thanks for doing that bit of digging. Seems the basic kit isn't available here in the UK. The just announced pro kit has been getting a lot of coverage, so maybe that'll be more available. Since it does claim to interface directly with PC, and claim to be for professionals, hopefully it'll work with Isadora one way or another. Looks promising.
