With Skulpture on that one: always use your own private network. It's dead easy to setup and you're in control of all the settings. Networks in theatres or on location can be quite iffy especially - but not only restricted to - when there's an audience in the house

I use a Canopus ADV 100 frequently, as well as a Dazzle USB device. Both generally work quite dependably. However, I have encountered the same problem in several of my computers, including different operating systems. Are you using the Firewire jack or USB? Sometimes something as simple as plugging a camera into a different USB jack fixes it, sometimes when I see that black screen in the Video Capture dialog (cntl-L), I select none, and then reselect the offending camera or capture device and it works. I have found that 2 of my USB cameras can't be plugged into adjacent USB jacks. !!! There are quirks. Valerie

Yes GecoMIDI is pretty good. I have another one also but I can't remember the name (its on my machine at home....sorry!)

What model entecc are you using, looking at your image you are sending midi and osc but neither of these will work with the supported entec devices. Only the USB to serial DMNX devices will work (namely the USB DMX pro). By the looks of it you are sending OSC as you have an Artnet device is this correct? Artnet is not currently supported by Isadora.

@CraigAlfredson remove your browser password. it's "panasonic" by default. In the left column of the browser interface there is a big button that says "change password". Just change it to nothing.

Hey, I'm configuring the nanokontroller using the actor you posted here. The knobs are working fine, I could configure them using the numbers i found on the status screen. I can't configure the faders and buttons though.

Do you have any idea what the problem is? I'm trying to use the Pitch numbers to assign controllers for the buttons. Status shows Pitch 8 to 15 on the first row, 16 to 23 on the second and 0 to 8 on the last row.  Thanks 

The camera is FW out, which goes thru an adaptor into the thunderbolt in on the MBP. I also tried via my MB air, and it doesn't even see the camera. I can access the video in QT on both machines, so I know it is getting into the computer; just somehow Isadora isn't seeing it. I have restarted the machine and checked with izzy before opening QT, so I know it isn't a QT hijacking the signal problem.

We are using IsadoraCore 1.3.0f24.

The actor I would use in this situation is "Compare Guarded." You specify a range within which nothing happens; if it goes above or below this range, you'll get a trigger.

In your case, I'd set 'low' to 53 and 'high' to 60 or something like that.

The smoother is also helpful to get rid of the jitter, but will also (by its nature) introduce some amount of delay.

we tested the system in a performance a couple of weeks ago. we had the audience sending in stories that were moderated and then displayed in a custom web app using CSS, this was syphoned into Isadora via CEF. then later in the evening, we sent individual audience members a slider to control sound, light or video. this went through nodeJS and was converted to OSC, straight into Isadora for video, through LanBox actors for lighting and MIDI out to Ableton Live for sound manipulation. the server crashed a couple of times, but he OSC stuff worked nicely. we're changing a lot of the structure of the event and testing again at the end of June. hope you're well and keeping creative, john

Just a light weight share - in several of my installation pieces I used some vintage 1995 AR powered speakers (still have 'um and work great) that had that power-off feature. I figured out how to snip a resistor on the power board and now they don't... pretty simple. John

Soundflower crashes my system. I'm on mavericks. There are alternatives to soundflower, found them in this forum.

Cool, thanks, yes I came across that post earlier and downloaded cam twist.  I never could get cam twist working though. maybe worth trying again
