It would be cool to disjoint the fonction grouped inside Projector, as separate actors: level (intensity) ---> mapping (position, dizzy-map) ---> output (layer, stage), allowing to fade between mapping or other routing.

I'm a bit late in the discussion and I must admit I didn't read everything but this this is my solution for a sequential trigger ++

I've been using my own cue system for many years now. This system allows me to go back and forward during rehearsal.

(If I'm working with a lighting designer. My whole patch is dmx based so that every scene or cue has his own dmx channel.)

@mark, Thank you for your advice about the 3D Quark actor. I am not sure now and a bit confused why I ever would have had access to it if it was not part of a general release. I can tell you that I have not used the actor publicly and I no longer have access to it. It appears to me now only as a carcass in a test patch. It must have slipped through at some point - some time ago (maybe 2-3 years ago??) - in a public beta perhaps? I do recall its effects, with the curves and spirals, I thought it was very interesting and successful. I didn't realise that it was really a hidden/forbidden gem!

NDI is 64 bit only on Mac OS, thus it is impossible to use 32 bit plugins to interface with it. Syphon gets around this because it allows you to send video between 32 bit an 64 bit processes.

These applications for Mac OS allow Syphon <-> NDI

Interesting. Mine was on my default and I never knew... I need to look into this, its sounds like its geared more around broadcasting, ie: Twitch, etc.

2.6 did improve the ability to use these within user actors (as noted earlier), and there is currently no option for user built input lists like this.

My work around is to use an int input and associate an output to display the name of the selected item. You can limit the rang e of the Int to match the number of options and corresponding names/labels.

I have a project where It would be super useful to send captured media to different places, where you are able to set the folder it goes to within each actor so one actor sends them to folder x and another actor sends them to folder z etc etc

This is a fair feature request. I not sure on the coding side of things from Mark's perspective but it would be a neat little trick. 

I’m working on a project with Capture Stage to Disk -actor. As it now works and Isadora Manual states, the “replace” function (on/off) is “only used when triggering the ‘start’ input”. It would be very very useful if “replace” function could be registered when triggering the ‘stop’ input (or could be chosen when it be registered).

In my project I would need the patch to measure and record the live cam input, and only if there’s “action” the previously captured video would be replaced. (And if there’s no “action”, the file would not be replaced.) I cannot know beforehand whether there’s “action” or not. The project involves more than one recorded files and their numbering, which would become impossible if I need to renumber them due to rejection of “no-action” captures.

The newly captured file is replaced only after stopping capture and the previous file (with the same name) is readable until replacement. So, I don’t see a reason why couldn’t the “replace value” (on/off) be registered when triggering the ‘stop’ input.

Could the above mentioned function be added/changed to the Capture Stage to Disk actor?

I agree with your point about the "Control Title" attribute for each item in the Control Panel. I NEVER use it because it is only visible when editing.

If it displayed along with the Control, I would use it 99.99% of the time, and would save me TONS of time making, typing, aligning, and otherwise dealing with separate Comment Controls items for each item in my Control Panels.

Mounting a show, so being brief, but wanted to post before I lost the idea.

I give my media names prefixes and put them all in one folder before uploading them to Isadora all at once.

This means that they are uploaded in alphabetical orderMy prefixes, ("Trees -", "Water -", "Scene 5, Pg 15 - "), make it so that my media for specific purposes are organized into groups by number right off the bat (so I don't have to spend time sorting them into bins *before* I use them and then worrying about adding media bit by bit and not being able to group things by number.

This led me to think that it would be great to be able to select media from the Media List by Number OR Filename

Rehearsal media placeholders can be used and easily replacedOption to re-alphabetize the Media List (to regroup newly uploaded media with relevant media) Would help with some of the issues surrounding numbering conflicts Can use video bins to group relevant media without disturbing the existing numbering/without the numbering mattering Input and Output on “player” actors for the filename (and an output for the media number too) would be useful for programming and control purposes.Would work well with the "Get Media File Name", "Get Media Count", and "Get Media Index", and text-based actors like trigger text and Data Array, incorporating some of their functionalities into the Player Actors themselves.

As I said, this was an idea I just had, so I haven't thought it through extensively.

Would this interest anyone else?
