@jhoepffner: merci beaucoup. I knew what an alpha channel is, I dealt with it at many occasions making use of plenty of applications. I know about codecs and containers and I found that Isadora is a bit picky when it comes to mainly movie content containing alpha. Since it took me a lot of trying to find out, it might be worth noting here that also png is a codec for movie containers and that the alpha channel of png encoded material is accepted by Isadora! What I still don't understand though, is what an alpha mask is doing …

The reason it doesn't fade is that it does not update the output unless you change something... a behavior you'll find in other actors that generate images like the Text Draw actor. This is for efficiency: there's no reason to send a new frame of video if the image has not changed. Your solution of adding an input to the background is a good way of handling this.

@Woland Great tip on Fritzing! Thanks, I donated and downloaded... hoping it solves many problems. I'm a bit obsessive about my patches. I find the time it takes to organize usually helps me think about what's next or how what I came up with is either good or not so good.

I'm sure I'm not alone in going "I know it's one of the text actors, which one is it??" as I double click on the scene editor and fail to find the one I really want, which of course is ReadTextFromFile.

Thank you so much for your reply. Look forward to whenever it does get integrated and totally get that it might be awhile. I have work arounds for now.

Unfortunately, the Syphon NDI apps don't do NDI HX. Currently the syphon apps only do regular NDI which works great for iPhones but not the new HX hardware that NewTek has put out.I might try to bug them and see if they will add. Sienna has added it to their NDI monitor at my request so who knows.  

In case anyone is interested, I have tested and am using both the NewTek spark and their NDI PTZ camera. Both work great. Currently running over 250 ft of ethernet cable. No issues. Worked pretty much right out of the box. Very low latency (at least for me). Helping me move beyond my various analog to digital convertors. And the PTZ camera is really great quality. Expensive but can imagine using it in performance a lot.

great thanks a lot for your example!! The "Limit-Scale Value" did it.

I also used the CPU to GPU converter after texture and I added the brightness actor to get a bit of flicker, like in the old b/w movies.

Perhaps I will spend sometime converting a couple, and if successful right up a how to.

in these days of drones and wifi cams, it would be great to be able to open a network stream...

Audio out on Movie Player

I like to have a switchabel (in the visibility output properties) audio output on the Movie Player. If switched to visible audio is separate from the video (and can be manipulated, like delay etc.) if it is non visibil than the movie player acts as usual.

Everything's in the title.

I would love to have these two (like in the movie player) in the AUAudioFileplayer.

Some might tell me "you can play audio with movie player", yes but with no video stream you don't have trigger output showing activity of the player, you can't use AU Plugins and you have to convert your files. Not handy.
