@mark I've confirmed your results. Right now, ZoomOSC jumps from 10ms to 100ms on the transmit rate menu, so it think the issue is that my 10ms option is too fast, and my 100ms is far too slow. I tested at 20ms and it seemed fine with up to 50 people. I think we can leave this one as solved for now. 

Next time I have 300,000 participants streaming into Isadora all at once, I'll let you know ;)

Anyway - glad to hear you're working on it.

It would be really useful to be able to see an audio waveform visualisation on the progress bar section of the Movie Player.

If only for being able to get a bit of precision when determining start and stop points.

I don't know what level of complexity there is retrofitting this feature, but it would be great if it was doable.

It would be nice to have an option in the Stage Setup to deactivate an output (e.g. Display Setting = NONE). Further it would be nice, that Isadora recognizes, which parts of a stage are deactivated and does not calculate these outputs to save resources.

Background:

We had a theatre production with 6 beamers and a Control Monitor running on a Windows 10 computer. 4 beamers were connected to a videowall processor, which were recognized as tow wide screen monitors by Windows, so we had in total 5 monitors showed in Windows.

Once during a rehearsal, we had an electrical damage on the computer and we had to replace it a week before starting the show and during a period, where it was really hard to get computer hardware. We were not able to find a computer with a graphics card, which can output to 5 monitors on a single graphics card (since Isadora only support that), the maximum was always 4. We tried a long time to find a way to work with only 4 monitors but we were not able.

So we decided to use a Laptop for one beamer and connect the remaining beamers to the computer and just let run Laptop and Computer the same Isadora show file except for a different configuration in Stage Setup. As fare as I know, there is no possibility to deactivate an output. So we had to remove all projector actors for the one beamer on the computer show file and we had remove all projector actors for all other beamers on the laptop show file, which also took a lot of time because of 80 complex scenes.

I think that such a deactivate output feature a situation, where each minute counts, would be really useful since one can just take some laptops, copy the show file, connect the beamer to it, deactivate every output, which is not connected and let the show run.

I got the "Mixed Format Media Warning". Thanks for introducing this warning and to make clear, that not all video files are in the best format. Unfortunately, I always struggle to find the best codec and container for video files on Windows.

It would be nice to have an option, so that Isadora automatically converts the video files in the best format for using the files in Isadora. It would be ok when I have to say Isadora, which files I just want to play forward with normal speed and which files I want to do special things like playing backward and so on.

Since Isadora is able to read all these files and do the uncompressing and decoding in real time, it is maybe also possible to let Isadora convert and save the files to an optimal codec and container beforehand. With the optimal file format for Isadora, much performance can be gained.

@mark I am trying to wrap my head around multi-pass shaders in Isadora, but not from shader toy. Is it possible to use a buffer, so that  a frame is passed back into the shader with a delay - like feedback. Woul dit be possible to give an example of this in standard Isadora GLSL terminology instead of shadertoy?

This actor gives you the Scene number (these will be consecutive integers starting at 1) based on its position in the Scene List (the Scene Index) not the "Q# / cue number" (which can be set manually).

By default, the Cue Number is based on the Scene Index, but what you've done is changed the Cue Number so that it no longer matches the Scene Number.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I do already have a feature request recorded for Q# actors similar to Current Scene Number and ones that would allow for easy navigation to different cues similar to the Jump actors but based on the Q#'s for Scenes instead of the Scene Index.

Here is one potential path to using augmented reality in Isadora... When 64-bit code took over a lot of the free frame plug-ins died. A lot of creative and colorful interactive free frames died with the end of 32-bit code and as cool as the GLSL shaders are it did not totally fill the interactive void that was left. One way to bring a lot of creative options back is by integrating the snapcode filters. Has any body worked on integrating this kind of stuff in isadora? This could be a lot of fun;-) Here are two links to get people started down that path

Unless I misunderstand, what you want to do is trigger things based on the current play position of a video or audio file. This is already quite possible through the use of Comparator and Time Comparator actors hooked up to the 'position' output of the Sound Player or Movie Player actor.
