Hi All

I have used the optical flow retimer in Motion to produce clips for use in Isadora. Somehow, as operating systems and programs update, optical flow has lost it's interesting artifacts. So I'm looking at alternatives. Morph programs don't do what I'm looking for. I found v002 Optical Flow online, but can't locate the actual plugin. Any advice or suggestions?

(I use this with Mac, rather than Win, but...) NDI is notoriously heavy on CPU. I tend to use Vingester to create preview windows and then Screen Capture them into Isadora. It seems to work better than NDI or Syphon. It helps to have an external monitor set up for the Vingester stuff so that I keep the system based on GPU.

That is quite a big ask.. This will take a few weeks of full-time work to get at a level that is 'production' safe..

Let me look this over and see or this is something that I wish to bite into..

@dusx yes, thanks! I've done that and seems to work also with the 'Multi-output device' which is another option (along with aggregate device) in the Audio MIDI setup. I guess I'll have to use one of these!

 Thanks for your reply. I'm also hesitant to use Recording Indicator Utility. Will try it with overscan, but it's scary to perform somewhere without beeing able to test it on the projector in the venue itself.

You will need to convert them from ISF to GLSL using the script available on this page: https://community.troikatronix...

Note: you may need to double check the script is using the correct paths for your system.

We do not have support for VST in Isadora 3. To do this you would need to route the audio out to a VST host.

You could try using NDI out of Isadora into NDI in Watchout. I've played around with that and it works, though never used it for a show, so you would need to test how stable it is... But that is maybe one method to run "through" Watchout.

I've been frustrated a few times with venues insisting on using their (often antiquated) Watchout systems. If trying to use Isadora completely instead of Watchout the thing to avoid is trying to use their Watchout computers to run Isadora. Watchout usually requires a whole list of tweaks to the BIOS and other parts of the computer to function most effectively, you kind of have to undo a lot of those tweaks to make Isadora run well (its quite tedious and annoying). It is better to leave the Watchout computers alone and see if you can bring in an Isadora show computer. Watchout uses a server-client mentality and thus often people will place the display computers local to the projectors (or other displays) and having the production computer in the booth or show position. Isadora is usually more centralized with the displays being run directly from the show computer. If it were possible to run new lines to the displays (Active Optical HDMI cables, would be ideal for the cost and convenience) and leave the rest of the Watchout infrastructure untouched - only replacing the input to the projectors, perhaps they would be amenable to the idea?

A new version of Python 3.11 was released on March 27. If you're still on Python 3.10 or lower, you may want to consider an upgrade. According to the release notes, 3.11 is 10-60% faster than 3.10. In addition, it offers some new features, like a built-in TOML module, and fine-grained error locations in tracebacks. This makes debugging a lot easier, especially for those new to Python. Cheers

And to answer the first part of your question;

We support sending it out using Syphon & Spout which is Texture sharing using your GPUAnd we support NDI feeds over the network (please be aware that they have to be encoded on your CPU and then get sent over your Network device, so this introduce a delay)

But as CitizenJoe already stated, we do have edge blending in Isadora, and I have to say also quite powerful edge blending. Check out the videos, if you have any further questions let us know and we will give you a helping hand.
