I hope I am reading between the lines and that there might be a way to do that in future, as I requested in my feature request seven years ago
I wasn't trying to imply that we're currently working on it, just that it's on our radar as a feature that is often requested and would be very useful to add. I'd really like this feature to already exist or be in active development as well, but at the moment we've got our hands full with IzzyCast. (Though as a result of requiring a few new features for IzzyCast, we've added a number of handy updates to the Control Panel.)
the animator was putting files for me in a shared Dropbox folder, and as he revised these he was simply overwriting the old version in Dropbox. Meanwhile the composer is sending me files via GoogleDrive, also overwriting old versions with new, and the script from which we were generating the captions was shared via iCloud. I can't copy and paste these from their various locations into the same folder as the Isadora file, else I won't get the updated assets.
You can ask your collaborators to not use three different platforms to provide you with files, e.g. create a shared Dropbox or Google Drive folder before the production and tell your collaborators that that's where the content needs to go. Additionally, putting everything in the same shared Dropbox or Google Drive folder means it's easier to port the show to a different computer since you could just download it. I've done just this for a number of productions and when I finish I desync the folder from my computer and the online folder becomes my archive for the show.
