Thanks. I don't recall what happens to live input video when using snapshots - perhaps it is unaffected? I think it is time to get the dancer in for some testing.

Hi,

If you're trying to send OSC from Isadora, as you stated, I don't understand the example "code" you wrote.

Just get the IP adress of your device running Lemur, and the osc address Lemur is listening to, like "/textaddress".

Fill the following infos in the isadora OSC Transmit actor, and then you can send your text in the "value" field.

@DusX in my test mov and avi , encoded with CS6 quality set to 100 have same size. i.e. the video I've posted (the source not the youtube grab) is around 750 MB in both cases

another good thing is that also MOV encoded with HAP in quality 100 is played smootly.....good to know, next time some mac user have to send me a video I'll ask for a mov HAP

BTW it's only to me that speaking about overall image quality VLC and some other common player are still a bit better than Isadora (is not a complain of course)

some one that have experience with pro media servers (pandora, greenhippo, watchout...) can make a compare?

Super simple. I've pasted a Max patch here. Just open the Stream Setup... window in Isadora to assign the incoming data to an OSC Listener channel. Make sure to click the "Auto Detect Input" box in the Stream Setup window.

I have been successfully using ManyCam to get live camera from iPhone into Isadora. This is via Spout on PC but I can't think why it wouldn't work via Syphon on Mac.

@mark just to add a note to this, I get substantially better playback performance with monitors plugged in. Showing stage previews on my laptop monitor for example, I get half the frame rate and 1/4 of the cycles compared with having screens attached.

regarding the kinect v2 keyed output. Although the camera captures 1920x1080 video the depth sensor is 512 x 424. Therefore the keyed feed matches the depth feed and is 512 x 424.  That is a spout feed with alpha. You are correct, this app will only run on PC.

I can't speak to the quality of the sound, but I did create a public sound recording booth using just Isadora to gather stories for a podcast.

It creates .mov files that have sound but no video content, saved in this case to the desktop.

What your original patch needs is to trigger the capture control, then start and stop recording. screenshot attached.

There are a number of ways to do this..

Freds idea might be one of the easiest. Since it has pre built components for dealing with Oauth (the login format used by Twitter) and does require writting any code.

-If your tweets are public facing, and you can view the data without logging in, you may be able to grab the twitter page text with the Isadora TCP-IP actor and parse the text internally either with Text manipulation actors, or with Javascript. This page may help: http://www.dusxproductions.com...

Other possible options

if you have a webserver, you can write a server side script, and use the built in TCP-IP actors to poll your server side script. you could write a script (python, processing, PHP, or any other really) that runs along side Isadora, and checks (polls) twitter to get any new posts every so often [defined period of time].
Sending any result to Isadora via OSC. (much like Freds options)web tools like IFTTT or Zapier (there are many others) can connect to your social media sites, and prepare the content for you in a number of ways.. (you will need to get the data, again tcp-ip or scripting are your options)

PS: What Graham is getting at is that the method of connecting to and working with twitter data changed sometime back. The authentication became much more secure (Oauth) and many things that were open to the public were made restricted to authenticated users. (the format also change from xml to json). JSON is very easy to use in Isadora.

I solved this issue using LG Plasma TVs (specifically 50PK350) and controlling them via RS232... there was a hex code you could send to disable the OSD, and then do all the input switching over serial, but sadly can’t find the command anymore in my archives.
