Hi,

I can confirm 4 x USB camera inputs through a OWC thunderbolt 3 usb dock to Isadora Live Capture Settings.  I also looked at adding additional RGB through the OpenNi Tracker Beta plugin (because it also captures RGB from Kinect and Astra cameras). However, I could only get the depth camera source (the OpenNI Tracker plugin RGB camera source appeared disabled (black screen) while using the Live Capture Settings USB video input).

@whatnao How much displays do you want to connect? And what resolution do you desire? I've used simple USB-C to VGA-Adapters to connect three projectors to my 2018 MacBook Pro with similar specs than yours and it worked perfectly well. I also used USB-C to HDMI adapters with to HD-Displays and it worked fine as well.

The great thing about simple dc motors (not servo or stepper) You don't need a lot of know-how to make it work you connect them to the power and they  work. if you change the wires it turns the other direction. 

This is where I learned to wire a windshield wiper motor the great thing is that you can use it as a stepper motor with only one step:

To make It change directions I used this whiring diagram:

This is all you need. (for the relays you can use dmx relay boards there you give a dmx channel to a relay.)

In Isadora you can make a user actor that sends out 2 dmx channels where you can make the motor run one way or the other.

If you want to make it run slower it becomes a bit more difficult, you need a PWM.

 Yes, still images will be rather light weight.

It seems like your HDMI connections should do the trick. ( I believe AMD allows 6 displays connected total? )

Videos will greatly depend on your drives. If you have multiple fast internal drives, and split up the video so that they are located across the drives, you should be able to make it work.
It's worth doing drive speed tests for each drive, as well as, working out the transfer requirements of each video type (4k in X codec requires MS/s)

This looks like a good way to get 3 x 1080p 60 HDMI signals out. supports M1 chip. on Kickstarter with 27 days left.

I've used NUC's in my streaming rig, Dante Audio rig, and a photo booth, I love the small form factor and flexibility.  

I'd love to hear from someone who's used or is using a gaming laptop too.  I have zero experience with those😎

Did the nuc I lined to seem sufficient enough for I3?  It's more than enough for the ETC Nomad software.

usualy there is no need to have the audio being routed through your video chain. It is common practice to have them separated until the point, where they are streamed. This could be OBS on the same machine where Isadora runs (without audio through it), a separated computer or a hardware streamer like a Aja Halo. Only on this final point they get married and streamt right away. You might have to manage some latency issues by delaying audio or video on some point, to have it syncronised. This can be done by OBS or some hardware delay devices.

It is the same for live TV productions or any other, stream or recording.

The only reason to have audio going through izzy, would be effects or generating them from there.

Hi I am now finally ready to begin using a depth camera with Isadora. I work with a dancer and want to do some interesting stuff! I remember being advised to go for an Orbbec but this was a while ago and things move quickly so what should I go for? Maybe there is no simple answer. Any tips gratefully received! Cheers, David

With the Raspberry 4 you have two independent HDMI outputs. And using a program like  Pi Presents you can manage many control features for videos.

I would be quite interested to know the answer to this. I use the d435 but they are hard to find currently and the d415 seems to be in stock in more places currently. Let me know if you do test it. Or maybe I'll try to get one to try also.

It seems pretty good from the spec though I am far from being a expert.
