If it's any consolation, it's the same issue in Windows.
I have posted about this before, ad nauseum
I get crazy with the way Isadora manage displays. Why is the order reverse from the order in system prefs?
BenQ PJ (1), BenQ PJ (2), BenQ PJ (3), Built-in in System
BenQ PJ (3), BenQ PJ (2), BenQ PJ (1), Built-in in Isadora
Why it is not possible to get the built-in screen as the last one (here #4) so that the numbers in Isadora match to the logical screen in this case BenQ PJ (1) as #1 and not as #2.
and I'm not talking about the fact that although I plugged the projectors in from left to right (as described by @Fred) the first projector is now in the centre. But maybe that's down to Apple. I can't say now.
Best regards,
Jean-François
Try with the 'Serial In Watcher - Text' (it looks like you're receiving text), and set the parsing pattern to 'msg:string={00-FF}' without the single quotes.
This should output the entire string you are receiving.
Hi there,
I'm trying to connect an RFID reader to Isadora. ANd the thing i want to get in isadora is the different NUID of an Tag.
So I have connected an RC522 by the serial port to isadora, and i can see there is an connection.
The only thing i can get really good in Isadora is the iD of the tags. Some have the same number.
On the picture bellow you see the input by serial in watcher binary. Both actors gave an value.
But how can is get the same information as i can see in the serial monitor?
23 is the first number en 14 is the last number .
How can i change the serial in watcher. Now i have set it to: value1 : integer = EOL or to value1 : integer = 4 digits
Same problem with RME Digiface USB. Only the first 8 of the Digiface's 32 outputs are accessible by Isadora. Mac OS Audio MIDI Setup groups the Digiface and Fireface UC inputs/outputs into streams of 8 channels. I wonder if Isadora can only work with a single stream, and hence only 8 input/output channels, despite more streams being available?
Jonathan.
These systems shouldn't have changed between Isadora 3 and Isadora 4.
The first thing I would look at is drive health.
Please open a support ticket and I can see if I can reproduce the issue with your help.
Re: [Capture Camera to Movie Issues in Windows](/topic/6100/capture-camera-to-movie-issues-in-windows)
Hey everyone. Looks like I'm having this issue now, but on a mac and with the new Izzy 4. The movies generated from a Capture Camera to movie actor are sometimes unpredictably jumpy and abbreviated.
Of course in my patch I am often using "record stage to movie" and "capture camera to movie" actors simultaneously. However I don't remember it being quite as unreliable when I previously ran this program in 3 last fall. I keep trying to ease the load of the scene to see if that helps, or change codecs as originally suggested in the previous thread, but nothing seems to work. Sometimes the movies don't even capture at all.
Wondering if anyone has had a similar problems or maybe some foundational info I've been missing. Happy to send files, but they are pretty contrived. This is the live 3D movie I shoot.

Hi everyone! I'm trying out my new MacBook Pro M3 Pro Sonoma
Playing with the speed of the movie player in interactive mode I find that it doesn't play an mp3 audio file smoothly compared to my old MacBook Pro 2015 which has the possibility of using the Quick Time playback engine.
Is there any way to improve this? any settings? maybe a specific codec?
Thanks a lot
Maxi
Hi,
You can find a Sharpen actor in the glsl set provided by TroikaTronix: https://troikatronix.com/add-ons/tt-glsl-shaders-for-isadora-2-3/
These glsl modules are now an optional download when you install a new instance of the Isadora app.
Further to @mark_m advice about previews. You can also monitor any video output through the controls. The Monitor is a control panel object that can be resized in the control pane.
Best wishes

Also when working on a show the stage preview window is so tiny that I can't see what I'm doing.
You can change the size of the stage preview window in the Stage Setup Window: (menu/output/stage setup) see pic below
And you can also set the Stage 1 to be on your main display, so you can toggle between the Isadora Interface and the stage using Ctrl/Cmd + G so you can see what things look like full screen.
But I have to say that I never use Isadora without a second display: I even have a USBC monitor that lives with my laptop.
