@mark thankyou so much for this.. i was beating my head against the wall too and tried everything.. but yes this is a great solution.. i found some blurs that work great! especially a GLSL one that has tons of paramaters and isnt slowing me down noticably.. i really appreciate all that you do.

Actually, you've identified a bug: if you untick the "Floating Stage Windows" after you've already shown the preview once, they will ignore the setting and still "float." However, if you restart Isadora with this box unticked, I'm 99% sure it will work. Give it a try.

@DusX, please add this bug to the sheet: "Name: Preview Windows Don't Update Configuration Once They've Been Shown" (This is because we're holding on to preview windows when they are hidden, to speed up the showing of many previews on Windows. This was to deal with the fact the Window/OpenGL context creation is so bloody slow on Windows.)

I just like to share that I've just successfully finished a fairly decent size production with 2 channel video hologram projection, 6 LED lights DMX controlled by Isadora and video-sound sync-play with Qlab, all of these were done through Isadora V2.6 and I've had no unexpected problems. Just like to share some positive feedback on this new version :)

@Woland @mark thanks for the feedback and I know you guys are doing the best you can with a changing hardware and software environment. The frozen in time method is exactly why I'm on a 2012 mac pro maxed to the gills.. but yeah i absolutely would like to find new more efficent ways to recreate my patches.. the concepts are not that difficult I dont think. I'm a musician and audio engineer by day so video software/plugin coding isn't gonna be my wheelhouse. I would like to hire someone to help me.. I think it could probably all be done with GLSL shaders, and some simple 3D models.. I posed an add about a year ago here on the forum to hire someone but no one was interested at the time. I guess I'll try again. If anyone is interested please let me know. thanks, D

@michel, I wasn't suggesting an email notification! Rather, the idea that when you clicked on a plugin it would say that I downloaded it on H=December 12, 2020, or something or something like that. Or perhaps when you looked at your profile, it shows you a list? I imagine that the tech is already built in, because it knows when you look at a topic or when the topic has been updated?

In terms of an official release of an M1 native version, it's going to take some time -- though a beta may be available far sooner. Before putting our "stamp of approval" on this, we need to purchase M1 machines for the entire team (happening next week), given them a build, and do complete regression test of the entire program. If there are bugs or incompatibilities, those have to be addressed and then we have to retest. So it's coming, but it will take some time.

I will not make a prediction yet as to how long it will be before a native M1 version is released, because we need to get the Big Sur release out. (Very very soon.) Then we can progress to the M1.

In the mean time, we anticipate that the Big Sur compatible version will run in Intel emulation mode on the M1 once we get it out.
