I have one. The ability to send graphics to the buttons is really useful, and combined with the fact that they are actual switches with tactile feedback is better than on screen buttons on a touch screen. It needs its software to be running to for it to work, it does not store the settings and graphics on the device as far as I can tell. I haven't used other software with it yet, but there are a couple of open source projects around that talk to it. Don't know the ins and outs of those as I advent had the need to use them yet.

I was just testing and playing around on the patch you sent me. I copied and pasted the actor in the patch.

      @jhoepffner

They had DHCP on so had the same subnet and ip class on the same network.
I will be testing it again later today to see if it was something stupid on my side.

      Thanks

I beleive this is a know issue, that is being addressed for the next release of Isadora.
The work around is to send the camera to a stage and capture the stage to disk.

@mookai1973 still don't know which CPU's you are talking about, there are lots of i9 and xeon models, I would chose the gtx 1080 over the firepro card.

Interesting device the size of a marker that can scan text to your computer wirelessly. Add in Syphon or some other software and it could have some fun art applications I think.

I really want to but there are other toys that are higher on my list at the moment. I want two of these for example: https://www.tapwithus.com/. Just think programmable wireless, wearable, low-profile controllers that would work SO well with Keyboard Watchers.

I recently acquired a Blackmagic Design Web Presenter for a live streaming project.
It works perfectly as an input device for Isadora. It has two switchable video inputs, HDMI and SDI, with passthroughs for both, and an SDI PGM monitor out as well. Also RCA and XLR audio inputs.
It only outputs 720p, but gives a good, steady signal into Isadora via USB2.

It's rather more expensive than the other Blacmagic Capture devices, but its switchable dual inputs might be useful in certain situations.
Anyhow, it works, and I just wanted to share that with all you Isadorables.

Mk4 is a very good solution because you have ADAT, so the possibility to ad 8 more channels easily.

Concerning Midi/Osc its not the same problem/solution.

With Midi IN/Out you can communicate with another musical devices, instruments, keyboard etc. but most of them are now directly pluggable in Usb, as nanoKontrol

Osc is more about the ability to change setting inside the audio-card from software or devices (touchOSC on iOs for example). RME have clear commands, easy to use. With Motu you can use proprietary modules, some in touchOsc to access some settings but its very difficult, perhaps impossible, to use OSC to change settings from Isadora.

You have to know that. RME Fireface UC is 875€, Motu ultraLite mK4 is 687€, for me with the difference in preamp and converter quality, the routing, the DSP and the OSC, if I have to choose now, its RME.

Hi! Though I'm probably a lot less experienced than many in here I recently did something like what you're asking for with the USB 3 intensity shuttle.

I used a Garmin Virb (essentially a GoPro equivalent) hung directly over the centre of the stage as a live feed. I bought a fairly standard 30m HDMI amplified lead with the ability to be powered (though I didn't use that option). I then projected the live feed on the cyclorama at the back of the stage. There was no appreciable lag and the effect was great.

The only issues I had was at startup, occasionally the Blackmagic drivers seemed to get confused and could find the device. A repair/reinstall of the black magic software fixed it along with turning the camera on and off again. I think that this was more my inexperience with the devices.

I would just say two things, make sure you can access the camera setup remotely via Bluetooth/wifi or similar and test like crazy before you mount it up high.

Is there anyone in Sydney Australia that has a kinectV2 with the adapter and gear to plug into a PC? I want to use it for a few hours for testing (I have one but want to test with more than 1 ;)), I can also sit in your studio if you don't want to let it out of your site. Just need to run some frame rate tests.
