It's not the same, but it does provide some powerful envelope controls, so it might provide related flexibility. My Advanced Envelope Scrubber allows complex envelopes to be scrubbed thru (rather than the play/stop options found in the standard envelope actor). You can then change the shape of the envelope live as you control the playback of the scrubber. The example file is focused on scrubbing through background scenes, but the output (listed as Fade Intensity) can be used as a simple numeric scale in your patch in any way you like.

Another request (sorry!)

As the title says it would be great to be able to change the colour/color of individual scenes. Even a selection of 8/12/16 would be enough - a basic palette so you can identify 'key' scenes, Work in progress scenes or anything that makes sense to you as the user.

I think the alignment grid could use some updating, firstly it would be great if it had some moving content, slow and steady so we can see if things are going ok and not frozen even if we don't feed content to it (this is especially great for NDI)

Second some more detail and colours and some clearer gridding as well as some more copies of the stage name - working with big multi projection stages especially with NDI if the screen is 10m long it is hard to see the middle and when I am at one end it would be great to confirm what is on display.

Especially now that NDI is integrated into many systems and it or other protocols will continue to get more use, it would be great to have some more options for stages that don't go to physical screens first and may need debugging or checking on a secondary system. 

@woland I don’t think they should be removed I just want to be able to put a negative number in the min (or max). I get there there are a bunch of actor inputs that don’t accept/need negative numbers but there are also things that do, so many  

The wave generator not going negative is not really an issue (or crossing quadrants). It generates floating point values (these can be negative) so I just want to be able to make a negative min to shift the output. 

As I said  I don’t want them removed  and this would not change any functionality, but it would mean if you wanted to use a negative number as the min you could  it would be useful enough that it seems worth it and it doesn’t break anything or change use cases or isadoras approach

If I recall correctly, actors have their inputs executed top to bottom, so I believe it needs to know whether the Gate is on or off before it accepts data.

Multi-channel audio routing in the Movie Player is a job that will take several weeks of programming and testing to complete. Possibly months. Removing the top input from the Gate actor to make a mutable thru actor would be like 20 minutes of programming and 20 minutes of testing, an hour of each max. They're not on the same level, so it makes no sense to compare them.

 Maybe this old thread of mine could help to start on something. Back then I worked with Premiere EDL exports to interprete them as timecode triggers. I'm not familiar with Davinci, but maybe there is some way to transform the script to work with similar files from it (I found some youtube videos which claim to describe the export of EDLs from Davinci, but I didn't check them out).

I didn't work with this since the project I used it for (I needed to tranfer thousands of surtitle cues). So no guaranty that it still works. But maybe i'ts a starting point.

Just like the fill tool in Photoshop. I imagine an actor with these inputs:
Video
Horz (the horizontal position of the target pixel)
Vert (the vertical position of the target pixel)
Threshold (0-100)
Contiguous (off/on)
Colour
Trigger
So you can specify a particular pixel on the incoming video screen. Hit trigger to colour every adjacent pixel of that value with the specified colour. (if contiguous is set to off, it will colour every pixel on screen that has that value, but this becomes more like a Luma or Chroma Key)
The Threshold would enable you to select pixels of similar value.
Maybe it would need a selector for different types of value (Hue, Luminance)?
What if it could fill a moving image? Would it need constant triggering? or maybe it doesn't need a Trigger at all, just a Bypass?

Any ideas? Would this be useful? Would it even work?

It really does seem to be cross-app, not just Adobe specific.

I know, for example, that if I export a standard .mp4 (H264) file from Premiere, that has markers in the timeline, those markers appear when I re-import it in Premiere. So that's an .mp4 file with no XML sidecar file, meaning that all the info is in the header.

These glsl modules are now an optional download when you install a new instance of the Isadora app.

Further to @mark_m advice about previews. You can also monitor any video output through the controls. The Monitor is a control panel object that can be resized in the control pane.
