      Hello,

I'm not fan of wifi connections during a show, when it's not necessary.

To mirror an iPad via USB (or even wifi, but that's not the subject) I use AirServer (https://www.airserver.com/) .

It directly generates a syphon stream. It's stable and IMHO worth the cost (20$).

My guess is that the layers don't read across scenes?

The default layering mode does not read across scenes, rather it 'flattens' each scene to provide the cleanest possible scene transition.

There is another layering mode available, that does not flatten scenes, and provides the cross scene layering you were looking for.
Note: You can change the layering mode for the entire project only.
The setting is available Under File/Layering

      @David

I have been using this controller with great success: http://dmxking.com/led-pixel-c...

I'm not sure how many universes Juriaan is looking to control. The device supports 4 channels, each with upto 4 Universes (I have tested with 2 each). So in theory this device can control ~2700 rgb leds.
And Isadora can connect to multiple devices simultaneously. (myself I have only tested this with: http://dmxking.com/artnetsacn/... alongside the other 4 channel unit)

If you are using strips, it is likely that powering the leds will become your biggest issue. The voltage will drop at the strips get longer, and this will cause first the leds to produce in correct color (white will become orange, then red) and finally they simply will not function.
This is handled by injecting power along the way. (there are a few way to handle this, so some research is needed)

Isadora's actors for Artnet output/pixel mapping, can only capture pixel values from the Horizontal or Vertical lines of a video. I have had no problem rotating video so that I could take a angular element, and grab it from either the Horizontal or Vertical, but it does take some planning.

Mark has written a tutorial that walks thru the process of setting up LEDs + ArtNet in Isadora here: https://support.troikatronix.c...

You can have a look at creating custom actions for google home (https://developers.google.com/... )

Most likely you can get it to send something to NodeRed (with nodeJS). this way you can avoid a lot of actual coding but it will still be some finicky work. I did not watch it but this seems to be about how to get it going.

Node red has an optional OSC Node https://www.npmjs.com/package/...

      @tgtmedia
I am also going to suggest using Nodered to bridge the gap. Isadora doesn't use NodeJS, so some package may not be possible to use a js libs in Isadora (some can, with slight modification).
NodeRed is a great option to run side by side with Isadora for this purpose.

@louizos well it may be easiest to strip these before being sent. I suggest looking at options in that side first. Perhaps unformatted is an option?

Regex is built into Javascript so it would be done in a short script.

If you can post a text example that you see getting I can workout some Regex to get the job done.

@woland perfect, That will do the job nicely. thanks.

Although I still don't know why the "complex shape" tool behaves differently for me in the input window than the output window.

it's one of those gaps in understanding that I feel will come back to bite me at a later date when I need to mask something a bit more detailed.

Oh well, I'm on track for now at least.

@woland if you want to use the data from the moving planes to provide tracking it can be done. You would need to add something to the planes, like rotatory encoders that will give definitive rotation counts per wheel, or angle of rotation if the wheels turn to steer. With a bit of extra code and electronics you can get reliable position data and send it to isadora.

Another way would be to use vive trackers on the planes and if the space is small enough an HTC vive with a little bit of code reading out the tracker positions. The vive pro would get you a much larger tracking space. It costs a bit, but way less than a mocap system.

Cmd+Shift+C toggles between seeing the Control Panel and the Scene Editor

      Cmd+Shift+S toggles Control/Actor Split

      Cmd+G hides stages

      Cmd+Shift+F shows stages.

If you press Cmd+Shift+F twice and see no output, go to Isadora > Preferences > Stages and make sure you have your Stages set up properly. If you don't have a display assigned to the stages, nothing will show up.

Also make sure that your video source is connected to a Projector actor, and that the Projector actor's intesity is 100 and that it's "active" input parameter is set to "on".

      Best wishes,

      Hi,

The 3D render is now called Virtual stage. And the fisheye is a freeframe plugin that you can download - I am not sure if these are still available though.
