@craigalfredson IMHO only Unifi gear is worth getting, and if you want go with open wrt over the top. The default Unifi firmware is also great though, many models with proper throughput. Consumer APs and routers are not worth the te.

 Yes I see that. Well that proves the bottleneck is definitely on the After Effects side - I can't get it to update the data any quicker than about once every few seconds. But thank you for preparing that video, it clears up what Isadora is doing with the datafile.

I fixed the problem -  I tried Qlab a it "hold me" that there were two files in my library that i should delete to make the DMX USB PRO interface work agin i did and it worked ... 

It was this two...

- FTDIKext.kext

I use this feature to allow me to ship self contained 'products', that simply require the demo version as the playback engine.
Being able to adjust some settings depending on the venue, or to be able to adjust fine calibration setting during install are the main reasons I have found to incorporate this approach.
It can take some time, and planning, but in the end you can create some very flexible systems.

Mark here. I just wanted to say I'm sorry you faced this frustration. The implementation of ArtNet is relatively basic, and we haven't put loads of energy into it because we don't have a sense that ArtNet is important for the bulk of Isadora users. Given that we have limited resources, we have to focus our energy towards the items that are most valuable to the most people.

That said, @DusX on the team uses ArtNet frequently so he is a fan, and this means you have someone who will push for a better implementation on the team. From my side, I want to see every feature in Isadora be as easy and robust as possible, beause every capability Isadora offers is increases its overall value. Please continue to offer your feedback. I and the team are listening, and we can revisit what your requests Isadora Werkstatt and see what can be done.

I don't have the hardware to test, but I have posted a couple simple enttec compatible user actors to the Plugins page to help users get started with DMX input and output.

Just check the plugin page for any items with 'dmx' in the name.

Here's the simple explanation of why they have that feature and we don't (yet):

TroikaTronix has 5 full-time employees (and Mark codes the entire program himself); if we made $18,500,000/year and had around forty times as many employees as we do right now Isadora would have all sorts of neat, new features. (It's not really a fair comparison.)

The addition of a native implementation of the Firmata library for Arduino in its own actor (or user actor) is a good feature request though, thank you. We'll add it to the list.
