@DusX  I am designing video for Magician's Nephew down at the Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake. Three of the shows in the festival theatre are sharing an Isadora rig and they'll be running all summer. We are just in previews now. I'd love for you to come check it out.

@Woland I'l try to post a few user actors that I've put together for PJ-link / projector control. I have some that work with PJLink on panasonic projectors and a couple that can control a variety of Christie Projectors. I should be able to get those together in the next couple of days...

The lights you posted use the ifttt protocol, that is how they can work with Alexa etc. It is just http and I guess you can use Wireshark to spy on tj messages. Otherwise there are some nodes for node red for ifttt that may help, there are also osc nodes for node red that would let you control it from Isadora. https://flows.nodered.org/node...

Modulating Shapes with VCV Rack and Isadora via OSC.
Caudal a mecanical chaotic source from Vult feeds the Pulse width modulation of the oscillator and CutOff from the Vortex Filter. These is routed into the cvOSC from trowaSoft. 

Make sure the OSC and IP address fits with the net setup in Isadora (preferences). In stream setup in Isadora go to stream setup and click auto detect. Then renumber ports. Then open an osc listener. To make the incoming numbers usable I used a Limit-Scale-value and a smoother actor. I scaled the min and max from the width inside the shapes actor. 

You see the height from the shape reacting to the filter and the width reacting to the pulse width modulation.

@kathmandale That is an exciting idea! It would be a lot easier to explain to less technologically understanding designers as well, to show them that it is merely an intelligent fixture like any other. I have not had much, if any, experience with Artnet. I agree that OSC and Midi are both a bit clunky.

At our theatre, the LD is often the Projection designer as well, and is not always understanding of my words when I talk about the technical side of projections.

I look forward to looking at the actor you made and I am going to look into seeing if I can do something similar myself before I look at yours.

@Juriaan  thanks i will take a look at it tmw. and being involved in hot patch for almost 25 years was the reason why i added this pach bay to my light board. i want to connect the numbers to the matrix actor. thats all we need.

Hi,

here is something to quickly draw masks with the mouse. I misused 'motion blur' as a buffer. With the mouse-wheel you can adjust the size of the circle/square/triangle (keys c, s, t) and with 'r' you toggle to adjust the rotation. Arrow up/down adjusts 'gaussian blur' for softer egdes. 'x' for reset. As well fun to draw with.

@dbini there are a lot of options for USB capture, http://www.magewell.com/captur..., and a lot of other cheapo ones too, but I would steer away and go for something with a bit of quality. You can find copies of these that work perfectly from your friend Ali.

Hey Isadora community,

I'm new with using Isadora & currently working on my first project: I want to control parameters in Isadora with Control Voltages coming from a Eurorack Modular Synthesizer System via a DC-Coupled Audio-Interface.

I habe already got some results, but figured out crashes, that led me to a general question:

Is it normal that everytime I pull off the usb cable (to the soundcard), Isadora simply closes without any warnings, questions or report on the next startup?
(I'm guessing a major problem in my system, that is also responsible for the "smaller" crashes...)

Working on:
- MBP, mid 2014, high sierra 10.13.6

- Motu Ultralite AVB, Firmware 1.3.4+617 (newest), USB

Some ideas?

I use resistors on the buttons, and I use a card arduino uno!

John, I started having the same problem, with NI-mate's settings taking 10 minutes to load. I am having email conversations with Delicode, who suggest the problem is related to permissions. I found a solution by creating a new account on the computer and creating a new settings file. I did not try the solution of deleting the settings files, which are located in /Users/youraccount/NI mate

(The reason the thread is still here, not in Python thread, is the project began as Isadora to getting CCTV feed to Isadora then morphed into Isadora smoothing OSC values from separate app etc etc, it seemed more useful to feedback info on the Blackmagic.) I really appreciate the help from this forum. 

@reinhard ok, can you try grab the pre-compiled version from the releases tab of the GitHub page and try with that? Also can we move this conversation to the issues section of the GitHub page. This is not really an Isadora issue.
