@mark any thoughts on the new resizable BAR technologies that have just become available on most GPUs? Would this have an impact on Isadora's capabilities?

 Here I am sending MIDI notes to the Helm synth (works with most any standalone synth or DAW). Helm then sends the sound to the sound device ( I am using Voice Meeter Banana because it allows me to mix multiple channels into the final output)
I am routing the MIDI through my Roland Rubix soundcard, but I could also do this using loopMIDI(virtual midi cables)... on Mac you can use Isadora's built in virtual midi cables.
PS: this patch is noisy fun :)

The best way to keep 4 videos in sync is actually to make them into 1 video (eg: 4 hd videso tiled, makes a standard 4k video) and then Chop it into its separate 4 video streams inside Isadora using the Chopper actor. The movie player can play multi-channel audio, and should support 8 channels if they are setup in the standard way for 7.1 audio.

If you can get a test file working, then I would suggest putting all 4 videos and the audio into 1 file. This will keep all media streams in sync.

Thanks for sharing this patch, this was very interesting to see. And such a nice patch. Also of course, the calculated mouse direction is a really cool feature!

As I was already patching further, I continued with the rectangles hit test as in my first post, which, as you mentioned is basically the same approach.

I made one User Actor for a shapeable button with text:

And another one where you can place your own images as Normal, MouseOver, and MouseDown states:

Both of them are not solid yet. I planned to publish them as User Actors, but they still will need some optimization. The shapeable one has a problem when the stage was not set to "Match Output", and you are use another display aspect ratio then in the original patch.

The second one, using pictures as assets does currently only work with pictures larger in width than in height.

At the same time the patch is still a bit chaotic and not well documented.  

But as I do not find time to develop further on this at the moment, I wanted to share the current state by now. It includes the current state as User Actors as well as an IZZ file with three scenes (Button shapeable, Button with images, Hit Test).

A user on Facebook was asking about old, 32 bit FreeFrame plugins that we no longer support. One of them he mentioned was the Solarize effect. I quickly found some GLSL Shader code on the net for that one, so here it is inside the attached patch. Just add your own movie to the patch to try it out.

@gavspav maybe go with an izzi map grid layer and send it to a virtual stage?

short answer: yes

long answer: it's depend a lot from what light board you are trying to control. ETC eos family are better controlled by OSC messages. MA2 can accept easily midi notes (remember ONLY notes), i'm not sure but maybe MA3 accept OSC. AVO for sure accept MIDI but i don't know for other potocols.

BTW midi or osc controllig is pretty easy, start from following midi tutorial and guru session made by Mark 

@bonemap Thanks that's the kind of array setup I was thinkin of using.

In the end I used Spout via After Effects to send video to the screen and I was then able to keyframe the colour correction before exporting. Not 100% perfect but better than before.

@dusx quick question, I’ve got a wireless artnet setup working with an entec Ethernet to dmx converter using an iPad using the lumiair app as a light desk .Could this actor work with this type of setup by substituting the iPad control for isadora? 
I've a feeling I’m over simplifying the process once again.
