    Woland TCP Send Data Format (Zeros?)

    @garygalbraith

    Have you read all the documentation about the syntax by using the "Help" button at the bottom left of the dialog that appears when you double left-click the TCP Send Data actor?

    G TCP Send Data Format (Zeros?)

    Re: [TCP Send Data format](/topic/5110/tcp-send-data-format)

    I found this previous thread with the same situation as the one I'm dealing with.  However, my particular situation is that 0s (zero) are not being transmitted.  It appears that if the parameter is a value of zero then it is just skipped.  (I need the zero to be included to preserve the expected message format on the other end.)

    I have reduced the situation to the very simple example below.

    In the above example, parameter 1 and parameter 3 are transmitted as the anticipated values.  However, parameter 2 is skipped - the zero is not transmitted

    If I use any of the other available formats in the "TCP Send" actor I just get the ASCII representation of a zero and not the value zero.

    What am I missing?

    Woland [ANSWERED] YouTube Live Stream into Izzy

    @nic said:

    I eventually want to stream 4k, but this is more to do with the bandwidth of the various platforms rather than any Izzy issues.

    You should chat with the folks at Office Hours Global. They're always pushing the limits of what's possible when it comes to broadcast and streaming. I've been hanging out there for years and they're all super knowledgable and friendly.

    N [ANSWERED] YouTube Live Stream into Izzy

    @woland Thanks everyone, yes apologies, I was just after a simple task of streaming HD video from a remote camera into Isadora. Of course, the ScreenCapture actor does just that. I eventually want to stream 4k, but this is more to do with the bandwidth of the various platforms rather than any Izzy issues.

    Woland [ANSWERED] Isadora 3.2.6 Frame rate instability after 5 minutes of play time.

    @dusx

    I believe the workaround is to change the Display Refresh setting in Isadora Preferences/Settings:

    I cant remember if "Off", "Scaled", or "Full" solves it, but I believe one of these settings solves the issue.

    We're in communication with Apple about the problem, but progress has been slow.

    @ursullivision
    I remember this issue coming up previously. It is something Mac is doing for power saving, and you're right there isn't any system setting to fix this. I don't know if we have worked around this in Isadora 4, but I believe the initial workaround was to programmatically 'wiggle' the mouse every couple minutes.
    Not very elegant, but it works.

    A quick search turns up a number of utilities for this purpose:

    • Mouse Jiggler
    • MacMouseJiggler
    • Jiggler
    • Computer Mouse Jiggler

    I haven't tested any of these.. some are free some cost a couple dollars.

    ursullivision [ANSWERED] Isadora 3.2.6 Frame rate instability after 5 minutes of play time.

    I am having a very strange problem in Isadora 3.2.6. I have a simple patch to play 2 HD videos (I've tried ProRes, H265 and H264 and am playing from a Samsung T7 SSD) to 2 stages on 2 projectors. After exactly 5 minutes the frame rate drops from 25 to 23  or 24 fps causing the video to drop frames. I am using a MacbookPro M3 Pro with 18 GB RAM and Sonoma 14.6.1. The computer should have no problem playing 2 HD videos to 2 stages (and they play perfectly until 5 minutes in). If I hit a key on the keyboard or touch the touch pad the frame rate goes back up for another 5 minutes. I've turned off every setting in Mac Preferences that kicked in after 5 minutes as well as my autosave in Isadora but no luck.

    Does anyone have a suggestion as to what might be the culprit?

    Thanks,

    Ur

    *not actually GoPro, but I used a FLIR C5 thermal camera recently, connected via USB extension, and it showed up as a Video source in the Live Capture Settings menu. Which was nice.
