I have been able to verify some issues with a HID game controller as well on my system.

And that's why I think you have to go with a tried and tested solution, rather than hoping for the best with the hardware you happen to have

For the handful of you into NDI (and the rest of you all who should be), NewTek just released it's Spark HDMI/SDI to NDI boxes and PTZ Camera.

The spark comes in HDMI and SDI flavors, and will connect that source as an NDI source on either a wired or wireless network. They're rather cheaper than bird-dog's option. Unfortunately no 4K, but I may be the only one that cares about that.

The PTZ is will output directly to a network as an NDI source (or via HDMI or SDI), and is controllable (pan/tilt/zoom) via that network as well. It also uses Power-over-Ethernet, which is surprising and really cool.

Couple of things... I got one and it worked well, but the bluetooth failed after a week or so. My dealer (Sweetwater) replaced it quickly and the new one seems to work fine. The irritating-to-me sleep mode can be remedied by using the computer-based editor to turn off LEDs in the global tab. Other than winky feeling keys, it works fine. Small, light with some unexplored features.  - John

@FabioQE data path is a great one, expensive but I like the driver/settings setup way more than matrox. And yes MST hubs are an amazing addition to windows machines.

In quadrant mode it will give you 4 HDsdi outputs from a single hdmi 2.0 output.

I've used in the past one BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle USB3.0 (analogue capture) and a Matrox Tripplehead DP Edition (2*1920x1080 output) together for a show.

It worked great on my MacBookPro 15' - QuadCore i7 @ 2,66GHz 2012.

After a discussion with @keftaparty about latency differences between thunderbolt and pcie blackmagic capture. I compared a deckilink duo 2 and a mini recorder. The setup was a timecode movie playing from my laptop while mirroring to a HDMI to SDI convertor, one SDI output connected to the mini recorder and one to the duo. The mini recorder shows 3 frames latency and the pcie card 2.5 (all this is at 25fps, so 120ms or 100ms latency.

The mini recorder does not capture 50fps so I could not do further tests but the duo does and maintained 100ms latency. There may be latency added by the HDMI to SDI convertor and of course by the screen, but the test seems consistent with my previous results and other peoples experience.

Here is a video of the output, more detailed data could be collected with an SDI signal analyser.

It is interesting that Microsoft have re-evaluated and discontinued the Kinect for Xbox at a similar time that Apple have announced a depth camera in a forthcoming iOS device (iPhone 10) - although Apple's face tracking IR camera may not provide the range that is useful for stage and installation projects. I would have thought that there might be a whole range of general purpose depth cameras that become available for 3D scanning of large objects etc. - but perhaps not? It appeared to take a long time for Apple to come up with a device after buying out and taking over the PrimeSense depth camera back in 2013.

In case you need to replace the filters in your projectors.

Recently I had a number of 'filterless' InFocus projectors become dysfunctional all at a similar time (what is that all about - an internal obsolescence clock that tells the projector to stop working?) 3 out of 4 projectors malfunctioning at a similar time with only a fraction of bulb hours used. My alternative was a turn to some older NEC projectors as a back up. When testing these, one would turn on and then off after a couple of minutes and another displayed the "Please clean the filter" message. It appeared to be time to check the filters. When I removed the filter cartridge on one there was no filter material and on the other the filter material disintegrated (this is not unusual for filter foam). However, I needed these machines to be up and running in the next day and there was no supplier for replacement projector filter foam locally. The only supplier of NEC filters was through Amazon, and that would take over a week to ship from somewhere overseas. The cost for 'branded' NEC filter foam at the lowest price was US$13 plus postage. I needed an alternative urgently. What I found was a local electronics supplier of a 'plastic fan guard kit' for less than half the price, that had a larger sheet of exactly the same filter foam loosely enclosed between two halves of the plastic guard.

Now the old NEC projectors are running smoothly again, and I have excess filter foam for a couple of other projectors.

Has anyone tried these out or heard of them? I found them in B&H a couple years ago but didn't pick one up at the time. They seem rather neat, and also only cost around $25.

Sorry for the thread necromancy everyone. I saw a post that this one was relevant to, searched this up to link it and show the images I had taken of the stacked projectors, only to discover that I never added them to this forum post. Since I made the edit and added the photos, I figured I may as well comment in order to bump the post so people can see the setup that I originally meant to show in picture form, but apparently forgot to add due to being too busy.

Finally added pictures to this post. Sometimes this solution is cheaper than renting a projector that is as bright as two cheaper ones put together. There are also better ways of stacking them, and even some projectors that are *meant* to be stacked and doubled up, and have various bits of software that make this calibration process more automated and less guess and check, but this was the best I could do in that situation, and it did what we needed it to, so I'm not complaining.

I think you will find most projectors have internal scaling functionality. It is likely to be automatic with only simple options for letterboxing, pan & scan and/or over scanning.

Even though its not AV foundation it performs best on my system (MacBookPro, mid. 2015). Between in Izzy 2.6 Hap will play with AV foundation.

@woland Hi, yes I have used pico on latest design, in the pic attached the distance is about 12M. 

Because of the nature of the show the lighting design was so low my normal projector was too bright, and there was not a lot of opportunity to blackout/cover the light without seeing the shadow cutting across, hence breaking the illusion, the pico fixed this. 

Depending on the make, the problem with the sd card on short loop is text info will appear for a few seconds on every loop, so a long movie file is required
